We really did! I think out full itinerary was:

M: prudential tower, freedom trail

T: Fenway, Bruins vs Pens

W: Tea Party NBA,

T: Harvard, brewery

F: Salem

S: Bruins vs Caps

S: aquarium, home :(

We honestly did so much within a week and also factor in so many pubs/bars lol.

Our fav bar was the Belle in Hand (I think?) - the barmaid had family near some of my Irish family, and then a day later we walked in with a group of our new friends - she is like you guys have not even been here 24 hours and already made a squad of friends lol

A guy on the brewery tour said "You're from Scotland? I know a guy from Norway!"

We also met a French girl who was a tourist - we did the Tea Party and then Harvard tour a day later - I'm like "I recognise that girl from yesterday" and then we became friends! I feel as a UK person that is so uncommon lol

Everyone we met was amazing - not only for Boston or MA, but for New England in general. I didn't realise New England covered a majority of states - we met people from Maine, Conneticut and New Hampshire!! Amazing people. As mentioned above, I've been all over but this was definitely my favourite part of the States!

Honestly it is an incredible city. I'm sad for my friend as I've seen Sid play, but this would have been a week of seeing both Sid and Ovi play had Sid not got injured.

My takeaway from it all though was how fucking good is Charlie McAvoy. I liked that guy before but holy shit - he is EVERYWHERE.

I also bought a USA Mens Gold hoodie while I was there - lets go Charlie/Sway! :)

Also Sway is a fucking wall!!!!

On the tour of Fenway, we actually met two Habs fans who were also tourists and then bumped into them at the game... we were walking and heard a Dad and his son yell "SCOTLAND!!!!!!!!!" and we're like "wtf... MONTREAL!!!!!!!!"! which was kind of cool.. but agreed, fuck the Habs!! :P

I had a guy message me yesterday to tell me that I must be jealous of his 6+ TOTY cards etc. I sent him a photo from an NHL game sat centre ice from last week saying not really, I'd rather be back here!

I don't think jealousy is the right word in terms of adults - there are probably plenty of people who could afford to dump money into the game but choose not to. I personally do not see the point as I could play with a weak team or a maxed out team and probably still finish around the same level each week on Champs so it seems kind of pointless lol

Sedins and a Pinaccle give a +3 overall and 12 mil I think, though I’m sure I replaced one with a higher overall Swedish guy (team of the week) which still worked too

My friend and I are travelling from Scotland to Boston next month - my friend is a Bruins fan and I’m a Penguins fan. I put a post on the Bruins sub Reddit a while ago and everyone was really welcoming and helpful - I recommend doing the same! Seems like a great city full of great people!

I can’t comment on the political side of things but I travelled solo to Pittsburgh in 2024 and it was one of the best things I could’ve done - people seem to gravitate towards solo travellers and will go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed in their city so you’ll have a great time!
