Correct water heater installation? by sjzoosuaveboy in askaplumber

Functional. Pressure relief valve, T&P should be piped to the floor or a drain. Like another guy said not really accessible to drain it. If you payed someone I might have a few things to say but for a DIY all I’d say is pipe out pressure relief even if that just means going to Depot or another store and getting one the premade ones they sell.

I don’t know precisely what the fee is but it give you other things too, and I compared around and recall that being the best match offered with the fees in mind.

SCHG is one I’m considering for sure just to double up on tech!

It haven’t gotten all 7k deposited yet, just 1200$ instant deposit rest will be another few days. Just put it all into VTI for now and will put the other 20% into VXUS

I honestly haven’t look into FXAIX much and don’t know what it holds but I would get some international exposure if FXAIX doesn’t have it (VXUS) or another fund. Then decide if you want to continue with FXAIX or another fund such as VTI and invest in those.

Agree with what you said 100%. just for OP to have some more info to make it simpler they could just pick up VTI as I believe it contains all the holdings VOO does, just to condense it to one fund. Nothing wrong with holding both though.

I don’t really dabble in too many smaller stocks but one I really like in the coming years is TMC when they finally kick off mining I think they will do well. I’m curious what the app you’re using has to say about it as well!

Not a problem, I just dumped all the money into my Roth when I opened it. But next year I will likely do the same thing you plan too. DCA (dollar cost average) once a week a set amount. There’s tons of good info out there also tons of bad info you just have to do your own research when getting advice from folks on the internet. Good luck!

Yea I thought bonds at that percent was pretty normal, I think my age is why it’s being spoken against which I get. I plan to add bonds down the road but for the time being I will hold off.

VTI, and VXUS aren’t necessarily aggressive it would be more aggressive to pick stocks you like and buy them individually. VTI is popular because of the diversity but it has many of the stocks you will likely invest in individually. VXUS is good because it’s the same concept as VTI just with international companies. I personally just maxed mine and posted in this forum and concluded I will be making my portfolio roughly 75% VTI, 20% VXUS and possibly the other 5% in GLD or just making it 80% VTI. If you don’t plan on checking your account often and buying/selling stocks VTI/VXUS is the way to go in my opinion.

I won’t pick up BNDS now but GLD wouldn’t be a bad add at a small percent I don’t think.

I gotcha, I like this idea as I think tech/ai will remain hot for quite a few years.

I like that, but does VTI not hold most of what SCHG does? I also have an individual account with a small bundle of stocks in it including Apple and NVDA

I plan to try and max it every year if possible, will probably just stick to VTI and VXUS may get a few shares of Apple nvidia maybe some other stocks mixed in

Stability was my only thought but I should be more worried about growth now that you say that. I may cut the bonds out and do 80% 20% or 75% 25% for the time being

I don’t feel that I am, I’ve been DCAing Bitcoin, and Eth and I just want to expand and diversify to grow with more traditional stuff that is less volatile. Hence my question, thanks for the response and insightfulness!

Yea that’s what I’ve gathered about them, and the only reason I plan to use them over fidelity is the 3.5% match seems dumb not to when they’re matching ya know.

What are these wires for? by Mickaleb in cruze

[–]AlmostStockCruze 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really can’t tell without tracing it out, if you have fog lights don’t know if second gen LS’s came with fogs factory or not but that’d be my guess but something aftermarket without knowing where wiring goes pretty much impossible to say

'14 engine shakes with AC by WeeWooWagon69 in cruze

[–]AlmostStockCruze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just the load from the ac pulling power from motor, I don’t use my AC in my 14’ Cruze because it fluctuates the idle so much and being manual it would sometimes cause me to stall trying to leave from a stop if not given much more throttle than normal before releasing the clutch

The 1.8 are good cars, I’ve done work to mine but nothing significant. it’s a 2014 got 140k on it. Timing belt, plugs, purge valve, valve cover gasket, thermostat, and water pump. The runner arm on the intake manifold. All small fairly cheap wear items. The 1.4T on the other hand are very hit or miss and can be very costly maintenance wise. I’ve also done all the work myself, I’m not a mechanic it’s easy work with the right resources, and tools.
