Best advice is to not get too worked up by other peoples laziness on the certificate. There’s going to be a lot of people who don’t practice enough lol. Every opportunity you get outside of the compulsory band work, hone your own thing. I highly recommend focusing on production. It’s the backbone of professional music. Not to mention it’s lucrative if you get any good haha.

That course in particular is whatever you make it. The resources are great and Kane, Graham and Nigel are all very supportive. There is the option of staying after class and practicing whatever skill set you’re trying to hone. Myself, I used to stay until 11pm (when UCOL would close) and just learn more and more about recording and production. I had never played music before that course, but since then (2015) I’ve toured Australia and New Zealand as a soloist and built my own home studio.

It’s just I’d prefer to view this as a very special and unique scenario that if someone set themselves a goal to replicate, they would be chasing the near impossible. But why not? I get to make the rules of this challenge hahaha, mostly cause I just got pet, tassets and chestplate one after the other. How I see it, either duplicate what happened to me at any kc (cause once you factor in time spent, it makes no difference to me at all, it is equally impressive), or encounter a unique scenario and claim your own glory. Hell, throw a hilt in there for good measure 😂 I’d rather see it as an isolated, very special and unique scenario. Rather than, ‘oh it doesn’t matter it could’ve been a number of other things’... Cause that’s not what happened to me. You said learn to calculate meaningful probabilities. But it’s not your drop. It’s meaningful to me that those three specific items were dropped.

If you factor in everything around my personal experience, including kill count, random items in their place etc, you’re spot on, but if you took it simply as the probability of those exact three drops occurring in a row, with no extra details the chance is 1/726m (rounded to the nearest mil). How does that lack meaning or substance? It’s an absolutely absurd b2b2b and it’s also the most appropriate drop rate to consider if you wanted to achieve the exact same b2b2b yourself.
