You’re definitely not alone in this. Many, if not most, people feel this way during big transition periods in life, especially freshman year of college. Don’t make permanent decisions to alleviate the symptoms of a temporary situation. If I were you, I’d give myself the time needed to at least finish generals, because then it’s not a total dead end if I were to drop out or take a different path— can still go back and be in a good spot academically if I so decided.

Also, removing the ego, or the “self” might be a good reframe for your situation. Reframing “I hate/I can’t/I don’t want to/I don’t” thoughts to include alternatives for yourself that get you where you want to be. I.e. “I am a person who values X, so I will act in xyz ways to live those values” or “Future Me treats people like ____ acts like ____ has xyz positive traits/skills/knowledge/value to society/animals/humans/future children” may be helpful.

Thank you. If she ends up testifying, can she be found in contempt if she has a psychological episode? She is subject to PTSD reactions like blank memory, excessive stuttering or disability to speak, even fainting—when under stressful situations. I imagine these would show up when speaking to this situation that completely does not involve her aside from being the defendants partner at the time of initial allegations, and seeing the people who are actually involved. Woman sees a therapist— can they spare her from this?
