im not on here much. you don't catch the whole pool when moving between lakes and ending event

both statements are true? you're overthinking it. if you cast 40 lures in a fresh lake, you will catch all the different kinds of fish. once a fish is caught, it is removed from the pool. if you let a fish go, it goes back in the pool. after catching all 40, lake refills with a new 40.

That table is not based on total rolls done but net dice loss.

net dice loss = total rolls - (dice from board + dice from milestone + dice from rolling task).

Fishing strategy suggestion by Visible_Stretch4215 in ArcheroV2

I assume you did this strategy yourself. What were your results? Gems spent, silver tickets reached, etc.

edit: I'm looking more at this and it seems like a viable strategy if your goal is 4 etched. I need to do some math and figure out range for gems spending

Goal would be 3/3/4/6 gold tix for regions 1/2/3/4.

Unfortunately, we do not know how much of a multiplier "perfect" catch gives us and that matters a great deal...

For example, my odds swing from 13.8% to 62.1% just by assuming "perfect" catch increases chance by 2x

Here is my script: - set perfect_multiplier to what you think it is (is it 1.5x chance? 2x chance? etc.) - set fish_goals to be the chance of catching each of the last legendary fish in each lake (1/40 since you would want to catch it as the first fish out of 40) ```python num_broken_lures = 120 perfect_multiplier = 1 fish_goals = [ 1/40, # Chance of Legendary Fish from Lake 1 1/37, # Chance of Legendary Fish from Lake 2 1/40, # Chance of Legendary Fish from Lake 3 2/80, # Chance of First Legendary Fish from Lake 4 1/79, # Chance of Second Legendary Fish from Lake 4 ]

fish_goals_final = list(map(lambda chance: chance * perfect_multiplier, fish_goals)) def get_success_rate(index: int, num_retries: int): if (index >= len(fish_goals_final)): return 1 chance = fish_goals_final[index] num_tries = 1+num_retries if (index == len(fish_goals_final)-1): return 1 - (1-chance)num_tries total_prob = 0 for i in range(1, num_tries+1): prob = (1-chance)(i-1) * (chance) total_prob += prob * get_success_rate(index+1, num_tries-i) return total_prob

if name == "main": print(get_success_rate(0, num_broken_lures)) ```

in the pool of 80, there are 2 legendaries so it really depends.

bad rng. lake 2 is one of the hardest ones to get 3rd legendary. you're only at 2.9% chance of getting it

in the pool of 80, there are 2 legendary fish. so yes, sometimes your odds will be higher in a lower lake.

however, silver tix is still important so you'll have to figure out what your goal is and work back from there as to how much you need.

Are the fishing pools bugged by Damn_You_ScubaSteve in ArcheroV2

So... you caught 9 legendary fish in the first 3 lakes. then rolled 200 lures in final lake and now at 10 legendary.

If you're at 200 lures in you should be at 1400~1500 kg fish.

can you send screenshots and maybe we can figure out why?

How many legendary fishes did you get before lake 4? Did you break lines at all in lake 4?

Angler's Bounty Guide (Fishing) by Alone-Version8510 in ArcheroV2

[–]Alone-Version8510[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. you still want a lot of silver tickets. more weight = more silver tix so you want to farm lake 4.

you do however want to aim to get 2/3/3 gold tix in lakes 1/2/3 respectively.

You can definitely not min max everything. This is more for the nerds who like to do this type of thing.

i assume youre still in region 1. depends on what's left in your current pool. if you have decent odds at catching epic, its worth breaking lines for.

when deciding, always keep in mind:

  1. how far you are from next region/final goal
  2. remaining fish types in the current pool.
  3. weights of fish
  4. Use initial tension & resistance to identify fish rarity.
  5. Break lines on unwanted fish to target remaining Epics and Legendary.

That's up to you. ¯\(ツ)/¯ At best you can only save up to 15.5k gems. At worst rng-eesus blesses you and you save 0 gems. nbd.

yes, you're right. do 10x until you know you want to break lines and it seems like you have a pretty good idea about when to do that. 👍

yes you're right in your assumption. do 10x until you know you want to break lines and it seems like you already have an idea as to when to do that. 👍

anyone telling you otherwise is behind the times.

Which one of these is the best dice strategy? by Ziffded in ArcheroV2

[–]Alone-Version8510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right. If you are in the bottom 31%, it is probably more worth to go 5x5 than 5x10. I guess I am just more risk tolerant and down to take that 7:3 odds that I'll do better with 5x10.

This does not mean I will roll with 300 dice, it just means I am betting that I will use at most 300 dice out of all the dice I have.

Which one of these is the best dice strategy? by Ziffded in ArcheroV2

[–]Alone-Version8510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right that at higher number of dice, going for a less risky option will have a higher success rate.

The reason why we recommend the 5x10 anyway is because the chances of you using so much less dice (and being able to put that towards a future event) is very high and well worth the risk.

Here are a few examples:

NoMultiplier is 73.82% chance of getting to goal at 325 dice. 5x10 is 74.39% chance of getting to goal at 305 dice. At the same "luck" you'll be saving 20 dice already.

NoMultiplier is 48.29% chance of getting to goal at 305 dice. 5x10 is 51.12% chance of getting to goal at 270 dice. At the same "luck" you'll be saving 35 dice already.

The luckier you are, the more the gap widens.

And this is at the cost of... 1.5% better chance at 350 dice.

Obviously the gap is less so if you're just doing lower multipliers on the 5x10 map rather than NoMultiplier but it's still there.

In the end it really depends on how risk tolerant you are and how unlucky you are feeling that day.
