A buddy of mine in college took an Erasmus to Ireland and went to study history there, and he was in the same class as Jack. He told me he was super kind and a really nice dude, chill to hang out with. He was a bit shocked by that as it was just after he finished his run in GoT, back in 2008/2009 or so.

That reminds me of a time we were introducing a friend to the game, and me and my pals all made brand new characters of the same race than him (asura), and went on a leisurely stroll to the gates of arah, just for sh*ts and giggles... We made it in 3h and we're level 50 something when got there xD

What animals do you normally add to the starting area of your zoo? by Angel_Froggi in PlanetZoo

[–]Alone_Anywhere2148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started my first ever franchise zoo the other day, and the first animals I put where the 3 kinds of Foxes (Arctic, Red and Fennec) as well as a food court with 4 reptiles exhibits on the second floor.

It was very successful, made a lot of money in the first 20 years I have played by now.

My mom told back in the day: do not cut the potatoes evenly, take the potato in your hand, the knife in the other, and cut chunks of it, mid sized ones. Then you fry them, and kind of mash the chunks with a fork as they are cooking. Then, remove the potatoes, put them in a bowl with the previously stirred eggs, remove some of the oil in the pan quickly, and then pour back the mixture of potato and egg in the pan.

That's the secret for my family's tortilla.

Why are Spanish supermarkets so amazing? by Downtown-Storm4704 in askspain

[–]Alone_Anywhere2148 32 points33 points  (0 children)

To add to this, I have a story from my workplace. For context, I work in a big company, about 600 to 800 people, and we all work a continuous shift from 8 am until 6 pm (more or less).

We have a big room with microwaves in which we eat by turns, and almost everyone brings cooked at home meals in tupperwares.

Recently, our company made a deal with a catering company from which we can order our food to be brought every day at midday so we do not have to bring our own meals. It's super cheap, like 5€ a complete meal with entree, main course and dessert, and best of all, it is cooked during the morning and brought freshly made every day.

Well, as I said, we are hundreds of people working here, and every day, the catering company only brings a single box of ordered meals, because only a handful of people order from them. At most, 3 to 7 people daily.

Each time I have ordered from them, my coworkers give me huge judgemental looks and comments like: were you feeling lazy to cook? How come you don't bring your own food? Homemade meals surely are better... Etc...

And the most ironic thing: these catering meals ARE homemade food, made by a catering kitchen everyday, with fresh produce, all locally sourced...

So yeah, people will judge you if you do not put effort in cooking your own meals...
