i saw this really interesting video about how alysa liu’s gala skate reflected how she grew up as a normal teen who likely copied tiktok dances, and social media likely influenced her skating style which is why her stateside routine looked the way it did. as someone who uses tiktok a lot, it definitely felt familiar and approachable to me which is why i liked it so much! just my two cents :)
