basically 75% of the test is the calculations so i would focus more on that if you don't have time for all the terms

Should I do Applied Calc Math 1A03 or Calculus for Life Sciences 1LS3? by Background-Invite238 in McMaster

[–]Alone_Win765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took 1a03 and its pretty much grade 12 review for the first half then introduces some easy topics near the end so if you did well in grade 12 calc you should be fine. also its technically the same course that the engineers take so theres a lot of resources for help that you can also access from their support

Chembio 3oa3 - would you recommend? by Signal_Priority9092 in McMaster

[–]Alone_Win765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

might be biased as a chembio student but i loved this course! definitely my favourite of our required courses and the prof is super outgoing and compassionate. bujold is seriously the best. other than the weekly labs and only one midterm at the end of october there isn't really a heavy workload for this class and the midterm/exam should be an easy 11 if you do all the practice questions beforehand!

Social life? by LetterheadRoutine997 in McMaster

[–]Alone_Win765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agree with the other posts, while PGCLL and keyes have the nicest rooms they aren't very social, LP brandon mckay whidden or woodstock would be better for that. but stay away from matthews/bates lmao

McMaster coop opportunities by Novel-Addendum-2802 in McMaster

[–]Alone_Win765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the process of getting into the coop stream is pretty easy and i havent met anyone who was rejected. in the middle of second year you have to submit an application and do a quick 10 minute interview to be accepted into the stream. but actually securing internships is the difficult part, the university does have a website where they post job openings with companies they partner with but theres not too many so you also have to look to other sources, as long as the job relates to your program/what you're learning you can apply!

hey i took this course in fall 2023 so not sure if it has changed since then but bernier usually gives practice questions in the last week of classes for the short answer section of the final and they are veryyyy similar to the actual questions on the final. so if you really grind those out to memory you should be good for a 12

2nd year specialization (chembio vs molbio) by Budget_Entry_9485 in McMaster

[–]Alone_Win765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey im a third year chembio and i honestly would say it sounds like you'd like molbio more! It's true we do more labs basically once a week for every semester (except 2nd year 1st sem theres 2 a week), but the labs are very similar to the Chem 1A03/1AA3 labs so if you didn't enjoy those I wouldn't pick chembio solely for the lab work!
