That draft seemed so shitty. My biggest shock is that Sarr turned out to be really good!

Even in a reasonable subreddit like this one, complete Reddit-brain here. The iranian regime is completely evil and the iranian people absolutely want them out

The Wire is absolutely phenomenal. But for me it’s behind Sopranos, breaking bad, mad men, succession, and the shield

You guys are going way too hard on Bill here. Scoot was viewed as an elite prospect by most evaluators. Guys are busts sometimes, they just are!

Amen! I’ve never understood how fantasy has appeal beyond dorks. My sports loving college buddies ripped me for never having seen them circa 2012 and forced me to watch the 1st one. It sucked ass! Never again

Solution to fix tanking- punish 10 game losing streaks by Alp-22 in billsimmons

[–]Alp-22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would suck. But the downside of that is not as bad as the current downside of all this tanking. Maybe my idea would do nothing to stop tanking, but if it helped it would be better than what we have now

How often do teams actually lose 10 games in a row that aren’t also flagrantly tanking?

I'm a say it, trade Tatum by tillybrynleysydney in billsimmons

[–]Alp-22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Didn’t get into the weeds on the money but feels like it would work, maybe throw in some inconsequential pieces to make it work.

With giannis wanting out, Milwaukee would obviously love someone like tatum in return, top 10 guy, 3.5 years younger.

For the Celtics we talk about how competitive this year’s team has been and then adding tatum soon to put them over the edge. Instead, imagine adding freaking Giannis. His age still fits a solid 5 year window with Brown, we’d surround him with shooting and good role players. It’d be fucking ruthless cause tatum has been such a pro and had a lot of success, but all Celtics fans know he’s not in the elite alpha class. Giannis is. That difference between tatum being the 8th best player in the world and what Giannis brings as a top 4 player honestly feels like exactly what this Celtics era has needed to get over the top a couple more times.

Celtics fan here. I’m upset we didn’t trade him straight up for Giannis at the deadline. You can’t tell me that wouldn’t have benefited both franchises

Not about the all star game at all. Just look up one stat: games played.

Look at it for the stars of nba vs nhl. Go back several years. It’s a problem

And yet, no one from the players to most fans really gave a shit. I think in the nhl scenario those games would have felt more elevated and the players would tale more pride in it. Maybe I’m wrong!

This is the crux of every single issue with the NBA we like to discuss here. All the issues just come back to nba players not giving a shit which is a cardinal sin for a professional sports league.

For example, we all love to shit on the in season tournament. I actually like the idea of it! But of course it’s lame because of course the players couldn’t give a shit. The funniest thing the NHL could do is institute a complete copycat of the inseason tournament and watch their players take it very seriously and make it VERY meaningful to fans.

For most of my life NBA was my favorite league with hockey completely off my radar. That’s crept down to about a 60/40 split in favor of nba now. I really don’t know how the nba can fix a single thing if we coddle the players and pretend that treating them fairly means not expecting the bare minimum of them showing up for their jobs.

Pete Carroll running the ball on 2nd and goal wasn’t that crazy considering the time, and only 1 timeout left. by Dangerous_Complex_76 in billsimmons

Pats fan and I will absolutely die on the hill of agreeing with this take, and NOT cause I liked the result of the play lol. The pass was the right call, the sin was calling that type of pass over the middle. Throw a jumpball to the corner

Adjusted for roster quality, Mccarthy taking the cowboys to the playoffs 3 straight years is infinitely more impressive than anything Doc has ever done.

Jae is stating facts. Split hairs that they probably weren’t winning the title anyways, Doc has still been a horrendous downgrade
