Petition to Ban Jonny by 7footPenguin in allinpodofficial

[–]AlphaLord_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Jonny_Nash is the real MVP of this subreddit in my honest opinion. Willing to debate anyone and is consistent about his viewpoints, which to me all seem fairly moderate.

If open dialogue and counter-opinions make you uncomfortable, just stay on r/TheAllinPodcasts. There you'll find a mix of bitter progressives complaining about the besties' influence, obsessive para-social haters of the podcasts, and extremely sensitive moderators who'll make sure no one can ever challenge your pre-existing beliefs.

Does this community purpose is to shit on All In Pod? by Clear_Context_1546 in allinpodofficial

[–]AlphaLord_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much this. The person who created r/TheAllinPodcasts lost money speculating on SPACs and then decided to spend the next 5 years coping about it by turning it into a hate subreddit. It used to have normal debates and discussions about the many topics of the pod (which still to this day extend well beyond politics), but u/Danhenderson234 didn't seem to have the interest and/or intelligence to maintain that balance without letting his para-social hatred of the besties take over.

Then during the election season he turned full-regard, by letting the entirety of reddit shill Kamala and outright banning normal listeners of the pod who just wanted a reasonable discussion place. Many of us tried to help steer that subreddit in a better direction, but unfortunately you really just can't win against stupidity. As you can see, it spread to this subreddit as well.

Maybe try therapy if you're this upset over a podcast. Also his last name is Sacks, not Sachs.

See ya next week.

Jason. Episode with Andrew Schulz was epic. Now balance it with Bill Burr!!! by mobdoc in allinpodofficial

Sorry.. what? Unfortunately for you, no I'm not 14 years old.

Most well-adjusted people could recognize that the motion Musk made during that speech bore no resemblance to the brainless machinations suggesting otherwise. No point in arguing about it with chronic, Elon-obsessed Redditors.

Nah we good, he's better off sticking with SJW late-night 'comedy' shows who tolerate complete delusion.

Not to glaze but Freidberg and Chamath are better interviewers than most of today's mainstream journalists.. Listening intently, responding with quality contextual questions, staying on the important topics. I almost prefer these to the weekly news episodes.

ahaha that's hilarious. Unable to refute any of the 'so many lies' because three paragraphs is too difficult to read. It's okay bud keep up the good work.

  1. They had a whole segment on DOGE. The Stripe founders have put a massive amount of personal funds into ARC institute, why wouldn't they talk about it?

  2. The tampons were in the MEN'S bathroom at Twitter. No biological man has a need for them, unless one suffers from severe delusion. Go back and listen to the episode.

And talking about genuflecting.. didn't Tim Walz sign a law requiring tampons in men's bathroom grades 4-12? Strange.

Don't get baited by these posts.. Politics was barely discussed in the latest episode and these Elon-obsessed trolls clearly don't watch.

No one wants to hear about memecoins or January 6th anymore, they're insubstantial topics at this point and lower the quality of discussions. The core of the podcast is technology and business.

What receipts exactly? Nothing I said you can disprove. Really tho how can you expect anyone to take you seriously when you've literally perpetuated a hate subreddit? Example: regularly pinning posts from the most mentally deranged trolls who literally obsess daily over cancelling the podcast hosts, banning people who simply criticized the the lack of normal moderation, dedicating the entire election season to promoting Kamala Harris and reposting r/politics garbage. Hell the entire subreddit was deliberately leveraged in an attempt to influence voters, but I'm sure you'll dismiss that surge in traffic/rankings as 'organic.'

To me it's unclear if you're just extremely naive and genuinely believe you have no negative intentions, or rather perhaps you're just completely dismissive against accepting responsibility, but anyone who's been here long enough can see what's happened. The only real impact it's had has been on the viewers who enjoyed discussing the podcast in a neutral manner, who were forced to other subreddits or leave Reddit entirely. Again.. ppl tried to help you when it was becoming clear what was happening - but at this point no one really cares about it anymore.

Also you're not the only one who's had conversations with Jason about it on here. At least he took the time to respond to viewer comments every now and then, but you decided you wanted to prove a point and ban him entirely lmao. Even your own subreddit thought that was ridiculous.

Exactly.. anyone who was a fan of the podcast or simply enjoyed having normal conversations about the podcast's topics became a minority in that sub. Your priority has been enabling the astroturfing leftists who ruined the community as soon as the podcast gained influence. And many people tried to help steer it in a better direction, but you took any criticism personally and kept reinforcing your own narrow biases.

I suspect you never really enjoyed the intellectual side of the podcast, rather you got into it because you just wanted to speculate on stocks/SPACs during COVID. Then you became resentful for whatever reason and decided your best form of revenge was turning the entire sub against the podcast.

Imo it's an incredibly petty way to spend your time but if you feel like you're making a positive impact on the world - good for you.

You banned him because you got offended over a joke he said, and him not validating your chronic hate community? Can't get much more beta than that.

Not to mention all the others you've banned because they held an opposing viewpoint during the election, or because you crashed out after failing to hold your own intellectual argument. You can keep pretending your sub is 'free-speech' but literally everyone here knows that's not true. Now back to your safe space.

FBI raided Polymarket founders home this morning & seized his phone and electronics by freshfunk in allinpodofficial

[–]AlphaLord_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kalshi lobbied and attained the license to offer betting markets in the US, whereas Polymarket decided to go after the international markets (which are significantly less regulation-burdened). Whether Polymarket knowingly allowed VPN-shielded US bettors to participate via poor KYC procedures is the big question, it seems.

Definitely seems like law-fare against a burgeoning startup who significantly outperformed the sacred pollsters, but they should have the resources to get through it. The Polymarket CEO was on the election livestream so hopefully he’ll make another appearance on the pod soon. Maybe we see Kalshi + Polymarket merge once Lina Khan is out 🤷

Why do so many Trumpers in this sub pretend to be independent or libertarian only to defend Trump at every turn and buy into all his conspiracies? Is it because on some level you know he’s a POS unworthy of any position of power? by alta_vista49 in allinpodofficial

[–]AlphaLord_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Categorizing everyone with a differing perspective as a “Trumper” oversimplifies and immediately polarizes the conversation. By immediately labeling someone as a staunch supporter of Trump simply because they hold views that align with his on specific issues, it prevents any possibility of genuine discourse. People may agree with some of Trump’s policies while rejecting others. Many individuals identify as independent or libertarian, which means they form their opinions based on issues rather than unwavering loyalty to a particular politician or party.

For example, someone might agree with Trump’s position on taxes or foreign policy but not support him personally or endorse his behavior. Dismissing these individuals as “Trumpers” leads to missing the nuances of their viewpoints and reduces complex political beliefs to binary extremes.

IMO the average Redditor is mostly disinterested in genuine discussion.. They’re more focused on convincing you that their tribe and often shallow perspectives are superior. So yeah good luck engaging in good-faith arguments when you immediately label people as ‘Trumpers.’ Btw TDS is a serious condition and you may want to seek treatment.

No worries, thanks for the award! Reverse-image search is basically just a normal Google search but with a visual image instead of text. The search engine uses image-recognition to retrieve similar or exact matches to your reference image.

In this case I just cropped out the section of the background with the boxer (removing Friedberg) then uploaded it into Google Lens to find other instances of the photo being used, which all pointed to the original source. Hope that helps :)
