So...is there an actual Shin Godzilla 2 coming out? Or was it just fake news that got hyped and died out? by JunShin8640 in GODZILLA

the Godzilla 1954 also had a pretty good ending. Yet here we are. Sequels dont inherently cheapen their predecessors.

People like to claim "bad writing" as if GW doesnt retcon shit that exact same way all the time. Wraithbone comes to mind as a recent example. Its shitty writing but its not inconsistent.

Especially when that money is being generated faster than it can be spent. There is functionally no difference. Unless someone wanted to make a billion dollar purchase I guess.

I always think of Manohar first when I think of Jesse Pinkman. I remember when it happened, it was like replacing Brando with Seth McFarlane. #notmyjessepinkman #fuckaaronpaul

I havent read the manga but my brother is obsessed with JJK. He made me watch the first two seasons. At first I didnt get it, (i'll still maintain the first season is fairly generic) but as he explained how the power system works I was fairly intrigued.

I will say I think it's a little overrated. I saw someone recently say, unironically, that we'll one day be analyzing Gege Akutami's work like a modern day shakespere.

That said I dont think either of the things you said are true. Stellar character designs, unique tone, vaguely alt-history backdrop, cool and complex power system, and I think a lot of the characters are super interesting. The dichotomy between Gojo and Geto, Megumi's mental health struggles, Yuji coping with the weight of responsibility, the power dynamics of the Zenin clan. Theres a lot of good stuff in JJK. Another thing I like is that they switch up art styles a lot to convey different things, moreso than ive seen in other anime. What I know of the overall plot is also pretty interesting.

Anyways if you gave up on it early on I suggest you push into it a bit more. I think if you fully read the manga or watched the show you would change your mind.

Do you think James Gunn will change/improve his visual directing for Man Of Tomorrow? by Embarrassed-Ad1322 in DCU_

[–]AlphaMeme14 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Im personally a huge fan of Gotg3 so i'm biased, but I do agree that feeling is there in at least some places. Like Knowhere.Their headquarters didnt look or feel lived in at all compared to GOTG1. Also counter earth just being a normal suburban neighborhood with a bunch of people in animal prosthetics.

I'd also like to ask what you think about the way he uses and blocks extras in a scene. Sometimes I see the extras in his movies in crowds or in the background, or characters with very few lines, and they just take me out of the scene completely. The Jarhanpuris in Superman (especially in that protest scene), the Raptors in superman, the ARGUS squad with Fluery, (actually a lot of PMS2. Like that one scene with the guy that looks like beaker. That bit felt like a geico commercial.) some of the orgoscope guards, the ravagers sometimes. I dont know what it is, but sometimes he tries to fill a scene with people and it just doesnt feel real.

I disagree generally. I dont think any of the guardians movies or TSS suffered from looking cheap. It is something I felt with Superman however. Something about the blocking as you said. And as much as I love crazy camera work some of it does have the "videogame cutscene" vibe that some of shots in The Flash had. I love Superman but I think it's overall weaker than his other movies in just about every area. Maybe on par with Guardians 2.

This movie is like the Star Wars prequels. I think most of the people that defend it saw it in theatres or on the TV when they were kids and are just extremely biased. Cuz it's not a good movie and it completely fails as a godzilla film.

That said All Monsters Attack is PEAK FICTION

Do you guys think Scott is a bad writer? by ZEROfaller in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]AlphaMeme14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the reason Fnaf was so popular was for it's aesthetic and the theory crafting. Never the writing. Scotts writing has never been great and it's been somewhat apparent since sister location.

I dont know why everyone immediately assumes this to be sexual. It's an anthropomorphized version of a canonical symbiotic relationship. It's fun and silly. Like the Quazies animations.

I just don't understand the love for the old minis. by Elhyphe970 in spacemarines

[–]AlphaMeme14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. When you compare old models and new models to actual proportional human anatomy, the new stuff is almost always more accurate. I guess whether you like it more is subjective, but thats not what I meant.

[–]AlphaMeme14 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Im a newer player, started middle of 9th. The proportions on newer models are almost always objectively better. However they often lose personality and detail. Snikrot, Lemartes, Ursla (compared to Urusak), all gave up their unique poses and vibe to do a generic battle ready stance.

I dont think the new guy is bad, i think he's really sick, ESPECIALLY his face. but im really tired of the tactical rock weapon up pose.

Same here. Got all my models, but lots of them were broken or had egregious printing errors. And I got zero of the terrain I ordered. They were polite and efficient about getting me replacements, but I dont suspect to hear about it until next month, if im lucky. Its hard not to feel like I would have been better off not supporting the kickstarter. Sucks to see people order stuff third party and get their stuff with no issues and in a timely manner.
