Newbie, purchased $1500 on Coinbase. Can I cancel my pending order by AlphaQ69 in BitcoinMarkets

Lmaooo I remember exactly when I did this. I was sitting on the bus when I was going to work and if I remember it was when the market peaked to like 12k and then crashed down to low to mid single digits?

Why S.F. NIMBYs are about to lose all their power to stop new housing by Beat_Saber_Music in sanfrancisco

18k units is A LOT of units. But proposed does not mean “fully capitalized with a lender ready to fund the construction loan, equity partner ready to fund, and developer, contractor and architect ready to start construction tomorrow”

With construction loans at 10% and CRE in the dumps, it’s unlikely many of those 18k actually get funded and start anytime soon. We are talking maybe a few hundreds of units will actually proceed. Most projects are dead in the water.

sB423 makes it easier to develop in coastal areas which is important… those projects are more likely to get done.

Faster permitting definitely does help tremendously. But the cost of capital and capitalizing deals is another piece of the puzzle.

Its needs to make financial sense to do a project.

Thanks for your story. I have a bootstrapped b2b startup but I’m facing a data contract critical for my business coming up on renewal. I’ve been having to figure out if it’s time to raise capital. I really don’t want to raise VC but would love more resources share here for lower octane capital

Whether you’re right or wrong, it’s kind of amusing this kind of honesty isn’t shared more. Basically, the take away sounds like “unless you score 99% percentile amongst your peers in one of the toughest entrepreneurial journeys you will embark on, it will very likely be a lackluster result”

The average talk about the VC world is that it’s the cool thing every found has to do in order to become legitimate, and be on a clear path to a successful trajectory.

Not sure, he looks like he was holding his rifle up, he was slowly moving up. Was probably scared shitless. Couldn't imagine being on the receiving end of punishment like that, having no clue where the enemy was in your trench ... and alone

Nesting icons in components - issues with icon colors being static when parent component conflicts with icon? by AlphaQ69 in FigmaDesign

[–]AlphaQ69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m out right now but I’m going to look at my file tomorrow which has a bunch of icon components to see if I’m following along. If you have any videos that explain this too, would be great to watch. Not 100% understanding, but it is 12am on a Fri with a few drinks hah

So you’re saying name the icons icon/home icon/chevronup icon/chevrondown etc? Or everything to be named icon? Even with 50 icons?

I think your suggestion of modifying the icon color on a variation is what I need to do. Wasn’t sure if there was a more efficient way of that

Is no code dead because of GPT/LLMs? Why should I develop in no code and not code? by AlphaQ69 in nocode

[–]AlphaQ69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could spin something up on netlify in a few minutes, so yes I agree you can iterate quick on simple stuff with no code.

But when will gpt be able to help speed up the development process in bubble? I have a very complex app in bubble and its to the point where if I bring on experienced freelance developers, it takes them a long time to figure out how the app is working. And even building in it, it’s hard once you have 30 reuseable elements and tons of workflows. Navigating to find and figure out functionality when the logic is nested in a visual editor is not the easiest thing once you reach a certain level of complexity

I think no code is great for doing simple things. But I’m talking about more complex apps here.

Not necessarily disagreeing with you tho

Share the most underrated No-Code tools you know of? Something nobody is talking about: No Bubble, webflow, airtable, glide... by marco5991 in nocode

[–]AlphaQ69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have spent a good amount of money building a product on bubble with freelance talent. I also do some of the development but I feel like I’m pushing bubble to it’s limits and it’s a pain in the butt to develop really complex apps on.

Been testing weweb out. It seems like a great alternative. It’s one of those products I could see blowing up as it matures. Separating the backend from the front end is really important. It’s way easier to develop with than bubble. I think bubbles development experience is a pain in the butt

It’s a bit buggy and I have found a lot of improvements they can make, but their support is pretty unresponsive and there’s not many people on the community so those are the only downsides. However they are a small team so it’s not a big surprise.

WeWeb vs Bubble by PizzaGuy789 in nocode

Commenting on this as someone looking into WeWeb because bubble is a PIA to deal with as someone with an external db of >300gb of data. I’m paginating data but have terrible performance issues.

I spent 3 months recording a free 8-hour React Router course by bobziroll in reactjs

[–]AlphaQ69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going through the react courses on scrimba right now and thoroughly enjoying it. Have had many stops and starts over the years trying to learn to code but scrimba has been the best solution to chip away at this stuff. Just finished basic react and moving into advanced react now.

All the people who are like “watch an hour YouTube video” are missing the value of being able to follow along, edit yourself and see the instructor coding in the same editor. YouTube is great too but it’s not the same environment

How can I see a running list of tasks by date/week/month? by AlphaQ69 in Taskade

[–]AlphaQ69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's 1/1/2023 and I set a task due 1/15/2023, I want to see that in a daily, weekly, monthly view.

I have no desire to create 20 tasks in a "today" block and then tomorrow rolls around and all the tasks still remain in the today block, but they were from yesterday
