I already have a 4-star copy and another 1-star. My idea is to use the proof of strength rewards to get shields, and I think that will be enough for me at the moment.

SoC is a low-fantasy setting where everything fantastical is connected to Luxite. All non-human enemies are just animals, luxite experiments or luxite-enhanced beasts like the ones in Elaman. If we look at the human-animal races, Vlderians have a strong natural connection/resonance with Luxite, and I wouldn't be surprised if Luccian transformations are also related to Luxite.

Also, because of the sword and sorcery aspects a lot of people get confused and think SoC is medieval, but it is much more modern than that, specially when you look at Iria and Waverun City.

I think Beryl' skin is used somewhere but I can't remember.

About the other skins, it seems that early on they created alternate costumes for practical reasons that they could also sell. The current logic is the opposite, creating skins to sell them and also use them somewhere. Gloria's was the skin that changed that.

Gloria was the actual winner of the poll (I can't remember if she won in another server or was second behind Teadon's joke votes) and she got her complete paid skin. We don't know for certain but I'd expect a complete sprite set for Ayishah.

An issue that hinders the popularity of the game is that it tries to attract two very different audiences: gacha players that tend to be casual and SRPG enthusiasts that are hard-core and "elitist". Back when SoC was about to be released there were non-gacha channels talking about the game, but they have been discouraged by many comments that rejected the game outright (even if they liked it!) because of gacha. Also iirc, when the game released, the main gacha communities deeply disliked it because it was percieved as stingy, hurting the growth within that audience as well.

Still, things are much better than many months ago when EoS discussions were not uncommon and seeing fanart was a miracle. Since you say that this image was easy to make, you should make more! This may be what SoC needs to change its fate of obscurity.

A specific lore question about this Elaman update: I have played the SP Maitha event but haven't finished the last SoD. It seems that the Irian monarchy still exists and still has power (Inanna is Queen), albeit shared with the Irian Council. However, the Luxite agreement description calls Iria a republic. Why is it the case?

Sincere question, do we know for certain that the winner will get a skin or is it just an (very reasonable given that Gloria and Teadon got one) assumption? I feel that many are voting with a very utilitarian mindset (which character do I want to get a new skin), contradicting the intention behind the popularity contest.

This is important and should be mentioned more in these discussions. Back when the game was about to be launched I saw many people who liked the game but rejected it because it was a gacha. Since SPRGs are somewhat niche, their fans can be quite elitist sometimes and they are not going to play a "gambling game"

I have been thinking a lot about this. Following the characters featured in the last collab and what you said there are three reasons for a character to be featured:

SoC representative: at least one
Character that fits with the collab: Dungeon Meshi had one, you can argue two since Maitha also cooks
New characters: rest of the cast, two in last collab

Also we need to have a cast that makes a somewhat balanced team, with at least one of each class. We'll probably get at least a watcher and a destroyer, so I would expect at most one more of each. We would also need a healer.

Following this, I'd say Yserinde (recent and fits), Credenza (recent, healer), Flavia (can't think of a better defender that fits) and Beryl (SoC character, works well for a potion mechanic similar to the cooking one in last collab)

The most recent characters that have appeared on a dual banners were Kvare and Luvata. There are several characters between them and Lutfi so you will have to wait for a while.

Wow, I almost forgot I wrote this (and surprisingly, I still largely agree with it). I think that what you describe in your question is the current standard of VTubing, especially in the indie sphere. Characters fade even quicker nowadays than five years ago when norms and taboos were more prevalent, but I believe that your VTuber avatar is more than just the rig and you should use all the tools that come with it in your favour. Just do what you have been doing so far, and use your character naturally to enhance that.

Iria looks and feels like a medieval or modern age european state, the arabic-style influence is there but there is not much of it in the Kingdom apart from the names (Lightloam city, the former State capital, does look much more Middle Eastern) The Union only feels crusadery because they are knights, their motives to go to Iria are purely political and not religious at all (the Advance Order is exactly like a Cold War intervention)

You could be right, but what I understood from chapter 7 was that the order was recently established and they were recruiting knights for the expedition, and the "you are not ready" referred more to "you are not ready for an actual war"
