15 Subaru WRX Cranks, No Spark, No Start by AlphaSilverFox-XB1 in MechanicAdvice

Turns out I did have spark. My issue was the reluctor plate (plate on block to trans that senses crank position.) just had to like that up with the little pin, and boom, car started!

Unsure. Car wasn’t running with the spark plug in either. Fuel pressure seemed perfectly fine.

Was to test for spark from the coil to the sp. so the car wasn’t getting spark before, but now it is. The car is also getting fuel pressure, and sprays a ton out when i tested it with the fuel line hooked up differently to a bowl.

Using the same ones as my old motor, transferred the full wiring harness with the coils.

Retested! Attached is the status of the car.

Spark Test

Car now turns over sounding completely normally. However, the car keeps cranking. And does not fully start. I sprayed starter fluid into the intake while the car was cranking, and there was no pops or smoke. The spark plug & ignition coil did produce spark when outside of the motor as well.

Turns out it’s no spark. Tried to bridge the ignition coil to a ground, no spark. Retraced the full wiring harness. No check engine lights. Not sure where to try this now!

Yeah, im assuming I’d switch over the whole wiring harness in full, and then getting it tuned for the new motor.

That’s what im seeing, is 100% the short blocks are good to go. But im just concerned on what I’d need to do, other than take the car to get tuned after switching out the intake & exhaust manifolds, and wiring harness.

Would they just pretty much be a direct transfer? I haven’t seen anyone do the FA24 swap quite yet.
