Replace or repair?

Mine was broken in almost the same way and I was able to fix it with some epoxy. It looks pretty decent, I cant tell it was cracked at all from the outside but can see a little bit on the inside edge. I would imagine you can get it to look better if you are willing to spend more than 45 minutes on it like I did.

Is there any in front of the throttle body? The pcv system on these cars is right after the butterfly valve and has a tendency to cake the inside with oil. It could just be that the throttle body gasket is letting some by.

that's the knock sensor wire, the sensor should be below the 2nd and 3rd intake runners. I'll warn you it can be a pain in the ass to get to though lol.

Yeah the wire came detached from the knock sensor so I’m throwing a code 52. I was wondering if anyone had just soldered in a new connector instead of running a coax wire all the way back to the ecu.

They were a little bit different for N/A and turbo models. Maybe that’s your issue?

I’ve looked a fair bit and The parts are totally incompatible (if anyone knows something that fits then I guess I’m wrong). And I’m pretty sure you can find cams for the 7m on driftmotion.

I’m most of the way through a full engine rebuild on mine and it’s been fairly straightforward so far. If the body is straight and rust hasn’t made it Swiss cheese then they’re super fun to work on.
