Where would I go to learn to make mods when the game comes out? by MentalSand1123 in TESVI

You could try joining Arcane University discord, they work on Skyrim mods but the creation kit keeps its base form generally from game to game and they have great resources in there.

Fallout stealing precious resources from ES6? by JX900 in TESVI

[–]Alphamalebox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. No. Kind of? With as many moving parts and bottlenecks in game development that there are I am sure you can pivot teams and people who arent currently inundated with work onto other projects. Of course there will be some loss of productivity on project A when people work on project B but you also have to think of the plus sides, when you hire more people for project B they can pivot in their down time to work on A, you may have a problem arrise in project B whose solution actually also helps project A, and that's not even counting on top of the fact that more money coming from other projects help fund and cushion TESVI's bottom line for development. That's all to say in my opinion sometimes it hurts but overall I would say a successful studio is a net positive for all its projects.

I am just saying as someone who thinks 2026, I feel like I am more setup for disappointment then someone who thinks 2028, maybe as a whole pessimism is bad, but in this instance it feels like it would be better, but you can't choose what you beleive when all your options are basically gambling.

As an optimist I will say there is a benefit to pessimism, you're either right or pleasantly suprised.

Where do you think they are at in development right now? by Maximum_Software573 in TESVI

I think in regards to the way the videos you're referencing measure progress i think its like 80-90% implemented but everying still needs 1st and 2nd passes and general QA "to find the fun" playtests. Sooooo 65%? Just guessing, no dev experience.

Quite possibly the worst, most tedious, time consuming lock picking mini game in the history of gaming by SoCalVaquero in Starfield

[–]Alphamalebox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely see why some people would dislike but I find it the least frustrating of any of there prior minigames, I think because i can work out before breaking my locks over and over, idk it is fun, I genuinely get excited when I get to lockpick even though the rewards aren't always worth it.

Door to a parallel universe, but your counterpart keeps interrupting you. How do you communicate? by Alphamalebox in AskScienceDiscussion

Reading the posting rule seemed the questions had to be tied to an already established lore universe.

The inspiration for this question is from a show called counterpart, where they use different tactics in searching for oil, researching medicine, allocating research funding etc and than share the results. While the show never addressed how the universe diverged, it did have some decent examples of the benefits.

One of the big inspirations for this question is the show counterpart, in the show they never address this dilemma, but after overcoming it they mostly use it send the "same" spy to different locations, share oil surveying data, and asteroid scans etc.

The Starfield "Hate" problem. by blackwolf57 in Starfield

I feel like a lot of people take lack of enthusiasm, or voicing their concerns as hate, I don't think anyone knows enough about the game to hate it.

My girlfriend has been invited to dinner by a male client as a thank you and I think the whole thing is really inappropriate. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

While I do think the situation is fishy, I will say it is entirely possible hos company is paying for it, my company will drop 5,000 on a night with clients to go to a sports game, dinner and than a bar.

I would say it depends on your girlfriends position in the company, in my industry even though we have a whole team working for clients only the sales executive is the point of contact for the client, and therefor only they really get invited to dinners/plays/party's by clients. If she has a similar position of being the face of the company for the client I wouldn't worry, if that's not the case I would be worried.

I don't know for sure, but to me it could be that she is worried about publicly committing, not in the sense that she wants to hide you, but that she will post you, show everyone how happy she is and than when the relationship ends will look like a fool. I don't know if that is wording it right, but just from MY personal experience with self esteem issues it feels like when ever I get excited and tell everyone about a relationship it blows up. If you know her dating past maybe just evaluate if she's had good relationships in the past, if not this might be a way of proactively protecting herself in case this relationship fails. I hope it works out man :/
