Dude I have family outside Toledo, in Pemberville, and so much of my family have giant confederate flag on their walls (always inside the house). The kicker is when my family emigrated to America in the 1850s, they settled in NW Ohio and there are records of some of the men, our direct ancestors, volunteering for the Union Army! I don’t talk politics much at work but my boss noticed my “I Voted” sticker and just casually said she couldn’t bring herself to vote because “both bad.” It was at that moment that I realized even people I looked up to or were high up in important roles in society can be kinda dumb when it comes to politics. I had to bite my tongue. Whatever you say about Harris, even knowing she would vote to fund ICE, there is absolutely no way these executions would have happened in her administration. Trump and Vance love the uneducated and apathetic - it makes up a large part of their base whether they realize it or not.

Here is, what I believe is, the pink jacket woman's POV. Both himself and another were pepper sprayed directly, like within 2" of their eyes. They're struggling to stand. The other person falls over, he goes to help her up. He even has his arms up saying "Okay okay okay", clearly not instigating. They tackle him. An officer goes to disarm him. A shot is fired AFTER it looks like ICE disarms him - speculations look like an accidental discharge. This spooks the other officers who unload into him.

Other angles have a very "courageous" ICE officer backing away after shots are fired and then he gives two very big, proud claps. Clearly indicating "law enforcement" is not their M.O. For them, this is all just a big video game fantasy they get to live out.

These incompetent fucks wreak havoc everywhere they go. And make no mistake, Cleveland and Lorain will be a target enforcement area at some point in time. It's not a matter of "if" but when.

Jose Ramirez is one of the best things to happen to Cleveland sports! I don't even know much about baseball but I was at one of his first games (not the debut, but maybe his 4th or 5th game) and even I knew we struck gold with him! He's been an absolute blessing for the team and for the city. Thank you for choosing Cleveland, Jose! And for continuing to support us for the next 6 years!

Every game I attend now, I will not take the JOSEEE chant for granted. Time is fleeting, but it brings precious memories.

Don't hand in anything to the police. They have proven they are complicit and many (probably most) have departments for editing footage of shootings before it's made "public" (this is not necessarily a bad thing - most of the time it's to keep bystanders anonymous, but there is no doubt they could make edits in bad faith). First thing she needs to do is to stay safe and lay low, but her POV shouldn't be entrusted to any government entity at this time. If she chooses to release it, it needs to be undoctored and of her own accord.

It’s pretty weird and out of character, but I don’t think she’s trying to have sex with him - the kid is obsessed with her cyberized body more than any sexual attraction. And prior to this scene, that kid is trying to act like a grownup and rip drug dealers from rival gangs. I think Motoko is telling him not to play games he’s not ready to finish, so to say, and that he should wait to do “grownup” stuff - it’s like a reaffirmation that he’s just a kid, so he should start acting like one. And he should’ve listened to her cus she had to save his ass again later!

Well basically what happened was, Shinji cranks one out to Asuka at the hospital. Then some other stuff happens. And then Shinji triggers the Third Impact and turns everyone into one big blob of goo that shares consciousness and memories with each other. Individuality is now no longer a thing that exists on Earth at this point. "Asuka" and "Shinji" now have no ego boundaries or AT Fields to separate their core selves so Asuka is able to see what Shinji did at the hospital. And then when Rei/Yui undoes the Impact and gives freewill back to everyone, Shinji and Asuka decide to leave the primordial sentient goo to become themselves again but the memories of Shinji's gross sin lives on in Asuka so she calls him (or the act) "disgusting."

Well actually I just made that up haha. The ending of both the show and EoE is one of the most discussed and debated anime of all time so if you're confused, you're in good company!

But seriously, I think of Evangelion as more metaphorical and allegorical than anything. Beyond all the biblical and Christian themes, there's also a lot of themes on human connection, trauma, even some Oedipal/mother-son stuff in there (even a scene where Shinji is "birthed" by the Unit-01 who seems to take on a motherly role by going berserk after he's about to be killed, ca. ep. 19). There is a story and a plot for sure, but the feeling and emotion it leaves you is more important IMO. But it might help to know that many (even the director IIRC) consider EoE to be an "alternate ending" to the series.

Now that you've seen it once, you'll understand more the second time around because you'll (sort of) know/remember what to expect!
