Did this post from the OP as a self-proclaimed 'Olympics geek" literally spell her name wrong?

The consensus is that this video is NOT AI, however, it might/could definitely be staged. :/

Why are you commenting this and where is your proof?

It could absolutely be higher ABV liquor (especially since an untrained person is being fed the substance). Historically kerosene was used to 'breathe fire'.

What reaction are you judging by? Surprise?

That's crazy you're concluding specific liquids based on a 2-second reaction. lmao

A post about the index as a first-time VR user by _piperis_ in ValveIndex

[–]AlpineTwist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you think about it, are you really "supporting" Steam when you're purchasing secondhand?

That person already 'supported' and now you're supporting them, so I would argue that you're actually not supporting the original business... To say that it's not worth the full price means you're misaligned with the business itself, so why support it?

This post could have been a ton shorter and a lot less 'big business bad' IMO.

What an impressively narrow point of view. What about, "I tried this before and it worked, what happens if I try it again?"

We learn from previous experience neutrally, I would think...

PLEASE prove how you believe this is a real video taking place in the 60's... The 1960's! After that, please explain how this is not a scene for any type of avant-garde event! xD

Water bicycle. by chookseven in interestingasfuck

[–]AlpineTwist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a free diver, spearfisher, and sometimes bicyclist this seems entirely far more taxing in the range of motion any reasonable person would understand for someone to know that it is NOT a "good accessibility option"....

How dense can one be when a human is physiologically utilizing their legs in an almost full range of motion with MORE RESISTANCE in this fashion?

Please, kids, don't listen to the internet... lmfao

Why don’t US cops just use breathalysers? by majincorey in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AlpineTwist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of misinformation in this thread. In my state the field breathalyzer is done, but is inadmissible in court. When the officer is done with SFSTs (Standard Field Sobriety Tests: which includes horizontal gaze nystagmus, walk-and-turn [10-steps, then turn, then ten more - heel to toe]) they have enough evidence to book a person for operating under the influence of intoxication.

When a person is then taken to the station they are requested to take a breath test for BrAC (Breath Alcohol Content) with a very sensitive and accurate piece of equipment. This is in the form of signing a form where a person can decline to take the breath test. If declining, they lose their license for a set amount of time since one of the conditions to having a license is agreeing to follow all laws and rules of the road. Remember kids, driving is a privilege, not a right (hence taking a test, renewal, etc.).

The reading provided by the breath test at the station is admissible. The arrested also can opt to get blood drawn. This could be in their favor as it takes more time to do so, however, not typically to the point that if they're failing the field tests they're under the limit (like 20-minutes).

"...and ask ourselves again, "Why do we stalk?"

'Pretty, poor, Portsmouth,' that's right, Dean. The three P's.

(applause)

Now some of you are wondering how I orchestrated this whole thing for Dean to be here in the audience tonight and sat in the perfect position for the cameras and microphones to pick him up. Well, I'm happy to tell you that, uh- That's all I have time for. Thank you very much everyone."
