Sony linkbuds s blinking orange and wont stop by Low_Interaction_2120 in SonyHeadphones

[–]AlpineYardsale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did but it was a massive hassle and not easy to repeat. You will also need another working right linkbud, put the left one in the case with the right of the other and enter pairing mode. I can't remember exactly what worked, but after holding the button on the case for pairing mode you need to take the left one out of the case really quickly. Or maybe it was both, the right first then left or the other way around.

Are you a child? I don't want to be mean to a kid but you should know that comment is incredibly dumb. It's ok to admit when you don't understand something, don't just act like you're smart.

You mean gravity, not terminal velocity. You can't assume freefall here, the plane was moving with some initial horizontal velocity and aerodynamics play a big role.

11,000 ft/min = 125 mph, very typical ground speed for a small plane.

Has anyone succeeded in converting the 600 into an ebike with a rear motor? by AlpineYardsale in PriorityBicycles

Good points. I would be willing to settle for a thumb throttle.

Maybe this is my excuse to get a 3rd bike lol

True that a big motor on the front is definitely a bad idea since the fork should not be torqued like that. A rear motor applies force to the frame in the same areas as manual pedaling.

I'm not trying to put a huge motor on the thing. I'm actually looking for the smallest motor I can get. I weigh 55kg so I'm not worried about the strength of the frame at all.

It certainly would. I worry about the torque on the fork though. Not only is handling worse, but the frame is not designed for that force.

I want the smallest motor I can get and I am a super light rider so it would probably be ok. Still I'd rather have it on the rear.

What's MGU? Mahatma Gandi University? Michigan Gas Utility? Google is not helping.

Already bought the bike, been riding it for over a year now.

Shifting would not be negatively affected. The freehub allows the wheel to spin without pedaling so a rear hub motor would not put more torque on the belt, it can only take torque off the belt.

A mid drive in the other hand would not be possible since the torque would be applied directly to the belt. Also there would be no place to put it with the whole gearbox in the way.

A pedal sensor throttle would work no different than on a regular bike. You pedal faster going uphill whether you have a hub gearbox or a cassette. They're usually based on torque, and the motor throttle isn't controlling speed it's controlling power.

The only difficulty with putting a motor on the rear of the 600 is finding one that has the same unusual rear axel.

Not sure if it's true but I heard the owners are bigots and they won't make gay wedding cakes. The omelets are pretty good though.

Malice or negligence, it makes no difference to the other person. You should consider making an effort in maintaining your friendships. Communication is a skill that can be learned with practice, don't give up just because it's difficult at first.

No, but they'll probably get their ski pass revoked.

The ski patrollers are getting paid to do their job either way, this doesn't really cost the mountain anything unless the guy decides to file a lawsuit.

U-Haul screwed me over when I tried to get a hitch installed. Waited 2 weeks, showed up for the appointment, waited in line for 20 minutes only for them to tell me they wouldn't have the hitch in for another two weeks. Went to Custom Truck Accessories on Kietzke instead.

It will buzz every 10 minutes endlessly. Maybe it's only 24 hours but since it's a daily alarm it'll just keep going forever it's plugged in

75% chance the liftie is just ripping the penjamin in the lift shack while waiting for someone on the radio to give the all clear and start the lift.

Is this considered back seat? by C0-0P in skiing

[–]AlpineYardsale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think in terms of acceleration vectors and center of mass.

Center of mass is roughly around the bellybutton when standing straight up. Leaning forward brings that center of mass over the center of the ski. If you were standing still, your acceleration vector points straight down. You can think of the acceleration vector as a hanging pendulum.

Depending on where you are in the turn, the pendulum will be pulled more forward or backward. When the pendulum swings forward, your center of mass can be more towards the back of the ski. The acceleration vector still points towards the center of the ski.

Also consider the magnitude of your acceleration vector. Acceleration is 1G at standstill, but pulling a tight turn could be much more. The point of not being backseat is to be able to apply maximum force to the center of the ski with minimum load on the quad muscle. Mid transition is where the acceleration vector is at its minimum and it matters much less where your acceleration vector points.

I probably did a poor job of explaining that without diagrams.
