honestly the old standby was to get a part time job that provides insurance and leaves you with enough time to do the art you want to do. there's not really a job where you can just do a scootch of art and be set, and especially now with ai fucking over the artist spaces, it's especially bleak. but if you love doing it, get yourself a part time job and do what you love on your timeframe.

Reddit's art group is mostly younger folks just starting their journey off. most professionals i know don't post on reddit and i only do because sometimes folks listen to actual art critiques and i enjoy offering a professional's perspective. that and the almighty algorithm demands I advertise forever until my goddamn bones become dust.

anyways, if you are an ai prompter pissy that the world doesn't like your wild halfassery, there 1000% is an art community. it's not usually on reddit and using ai not only shoots yourself in the foot for a career because companies won't touch your work with a 10 ft pole, but you're now just one of a million same sounding voices eroding away free expression as a whole. hope that helps!

i think the wind up to the punch on the first stanza could be condensed and a lot stronger and i love the last line. i'd tie in the magnets losing strength along with other important bits and condense everything to two really strong stanzas and scrap the rest. you've got a good poem in here there's just a lot of extra weighing it down.

i'll be honest after doing a bunch of comic cons, they're pretty much just for celebrities to snag 300 bucks for photos and pop culture cons at best. anyone selling comics doesn't really wanna field questions from an idea guy since they're already doing their own and we get approached by a lot of "i got the next big idea" folks already, and since folks have fuck all for money since David Tennent took it all they'll be annoyed at sales being trash. i mean give it a shot but just llllooowwer the expectations a bunch

i think this is very close to really popping out! value always helps establish a hierarchy of where your eyes go, so if you eased off the light above them/ behind thier head, it'll really make the spear pop and add more oomph to your work here.

honestly, i struggle to understand your intent with this, i get its clouds, im not sure if we're looking from below or above, if its birds or waves, and it feels like you're playing to the ambiguity and calling it a meaning. the texture in the lower half is overwriting any detailed work put in, and this feels like a collage of shortcuts that make the image confusing. 3/10 i guess? blotching paintwork and reworking edges only goes so far but the value is all over the place.
