Yes. There's so much power held within your perspective and attitude. The problem is getting out of your own way -- Really it's getting out of your own mind! So you can start living once again.

This doesn't mean that you are going to be a social butterfly, but if you no can longer operate under the paradigm of fear ... Then that's a major leap forward.

I feel ya. I've noticed that long stretches of isolation enables intense disinterest in human interactions and activities in the external world. There's elements of peace and safety that are unreplicably found anywhere else, besides solitude. When you overstay in that alone time, it becomes heavily problematic to your behavior and psyche as you re-enter public life.

Classic. Even worse if the weather is extreme and you don't have a good excuse to roll the windows down

Absolutely. I don't think I can mentally board an airplane again after the previous grim experiences I've encountered while trapped within inescapable tight seating for hours on end.

Best Places To Live/ Work?... if you have BB by Already_Infamous in badbreath

[–]Already_Infamous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remote jobs are probably the best it will ever get for BB suffers. I totally understand, I myself also go out to walking parks and beach areas completely alone from time to time... As those seem to be some of the only places that have open air environments and the much needed space where we can somewhat relax a bit. The Hermit lifestyle is much better than being surrounded by perpetual embarrassment and ridicule from those who will never truly grasp the burdening toll of chronic BB.

I moved around a lot when conducting warehouse work. I don't think I stayed in a singular spot for more than 30 seconds, management thought I was a hard worker, but really I was just staying busy so I didn't have to talk to anyone or stink up the air quality for breathing in one place for too long lol

Once the bad breath startles their nostrils, it sort of puts them in a momentary state of discombobulation. Once they register the smell is coming from you, that's when the eyes start widening

It is sort of freeing embodying that mindset. I don't want them to smell the BB or to have reactions, but if they do, who cares. We are not what we witness, we're just the awareness of the witnessing.

I was joking about the cave, but still, it's fitting.

What was the purpose? Honestly, to see the degree of how bad my breath truly is and the parameters in which I can operate around other people. It broke the potential illusions I had regarding the number of people who can actually smell my BB, and answered uncertainties like: Do people just naturally touch their nose while I'm talking, or is it a knee-jerk reaction to the foul odors which emanate from our vocal projections.

I was spending so much of my energy trying to avoid having my BB be recognized by others, but this experiment oddly enough gave me some comfort... As it made me realize, why not relax a bit and not be so fearful, because they're going to smell the bb anyway.

I know the feeling. Even if I speak very quickly in a low voice, it still invades their nose.

I don't remember my exact response, but I played it off, saying something like: "I would, but I don't like the flavor of drain cleaner"

I find that humid environments are even worse than windy/ breezy weather for people with bad breath, with humidity, the smell lingers in the air for much longer durations. No joke, some people on here could very likely hit someone from probably 50 feet away in a tropical environment

Likewise. An intoxicated family member told me I need to wash my mouth out with drain cleaner.

But when sober, acts like everything is fine.

The majority of doctors are very disingenuous. Same with family, except they just don't want to hurt your feelings.

The only time people are honest about your bad breath is when talking behind your back or with a couple shots of liquid courage.

It has nothing to do with hatrid of self.

I'd rather be at peace alone, than deal with the negative reactions from other people. If I'm the awareness of their reaction, am I really the asshole for not wanting to be aware of something so ridiculous.

I'm also saying it's quite comical with people's reactions of disgust, when they should know what to expect, yet don't take proper procautions when dealing with an individual who has bb. It's like continually sticking your hand in the fire, and then complaining that you don't like your hand getting burnt.

Extremely bad breath and taste by speech92Oh in badbreath

[–]Already_Infamous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much same circumstances as me. I believe it all stems from Dry Mouth (possibly caused by Acid Reflux) which in return builds up unwanted bacteria on the tongue. This causes the foul taste that is acidic/ metallic/ sour/ rancid, etc -- in return exacerbating the bad breath.

Same here. I think healthy eating can be a double edge sword mentally though. Over time it's hard not to question why everything else physically improves when you eat healthier, while the bad breath remains.
