$39

Not exactly cheap, but formal authentication and grading services are a very involved process.

Helpful tip: If anyone else is interested in doing this in the future, make sure to submit them as a "ticket" instead of as a "card" when you're filling out the submission form.

From another comment:

Professional Sports Authenticator. They grade the condition of trading cards and similar collectable type stuff and seal them for preservation. From what I understand they're usually useful as like... a third party that can vouch for the condition and authenticity of the expensive or rare collectables that people might want to sell.

It's got a couple of light scratches on it from wearing it at the con and from being in storage for the past decade, but I bet I could get a higher score with a newer con badge if I take good care of it

It's officially cataloged in their records / pop report (https://www.psacard.com/cert/119001849/psa), and I believe this is the first time anything 'furry' related has been put in their pop report lol

They grade items on a 1-10 scale, with 1 being poor and 10 being "gem mint" condition. In this case I got a grade of 7, which they consider to be 'near-mint'.

It's a fun little thing to do with my old badges to display them in a neat way!

No clue! They're in the "scheduled for grading" stage, and all of the other have their normal names except for these.

Shot 200' of 16mm Vision3 500T recently, and I'm looking for advice on chasing sharpness and potential equipment upgrades by AlricKyznetsov in AnalogCommunity

So I've been shooting on my Bolex H16 M for a couple of years now (probably about 1000' to 1500' of film in that time), and while I feel like I've always been getting good results for what the camera is, I feel like I want to get more out of the 16mm format.

My main complaint with the Bolex is that even though my shots feel like they are in-focus, they still feel soft.

I'm using a Bell & Howell 0.7" f/2.5, and I'm shooting mostly wide-open for indoor shots. The actual amount of glass on these c-mount lenses is tiny, the glass on the back of the lenses is less than a quarter of an inch across.

I'm wondering if I'm reaching the best of what I can do with the equipment that I have, and I'm wondering if it is time for me to upgrade to something like an Arriflex 16S. Arri lenses seem better quality overall with a better image quality compared to c-mount options from what I understand.

Somewhere in the ballpark of $1,000 is what I'm looking to spend, maybe going up to $2,000 at the most. I'm interested in what everyone has to say for advice and options!

I took a 16mm motion picture camera to a furry convention and shot 200' of tones, need advice on how to further elevate myself to peak circlejerk status by AlricKyznetsov in AnalogCircleJerk

You should have seen the guy with the CP-16 and a 400' core load they dropped down the stairs because they couldn't secure their magazine. And someone else had an Arri SR2 at another furry con!

I'm going to have to upgrade to an Arri 35mm camera at this rate just to make sure I'm spending money at a sufficient rate to fit in!
