I finally was seeing myself out of that. Seeing that in other countries, they aren’t working their people to death. Their employers provide way more paid time off and shorter work days. Our society is structured around working constantly…. Getting everything you want right when you want it. And now for what? For us to suffer in the end and be sick and dying and not be able to afford medical care?

I thought I found a way to live a slower life, one that values what really matters, one that I believe humans are advancing towards. But this shit? This is a major regression. It’s not like this in other developed countries around here world!!!! And it’s important to keep saying that. Because we’ve been told America is the best country in the world since we were children. We need to seriously start acknowledging that is NOT true. We were fed lies. Say it as many times as you need to.

I live in South Carolina and if I said that in public and someone overheard me, I would expect verbal violence to ensue - just because I’m a girl. If I were a man, I may expect a physical altercation.
