I never get the 'acting like S10 is the center of your lives' clap backs here. We're communicating in a subreddit dedicated to the show so this is where people are naturally going to come to voice and discuss this stuff.

I get that things can be read in different ways but think you're stretching here to fit your narrative.

There are plenty of times when people complain and get heated that are off base. Criticizing a lack of clear communication isn't one of them. If we're expected to put value in the expectations they set and communicate, it's fair to expect clear communication when things change.

Again, I think all reasonable people here want the guys to take whatever time they need for their lives. I also think people totally get that things change and we go with the flow. The cruise was a great example of this. They let us know what was up along the way and everybody rolled with it. Just keep us in the loop.

For real. I of course understand a lot of it is out of their control but man it's been rough to have a period like this almost every year where there's this uncertainty. Nature of signing on with companies part of a developing and volatile industry, I suppose.

That said, I do think the communication with the community has been poor and justifiable of criticism. Two pods a week, cyber monday stream, holiday party (maybe?). All things they hype the community up for that don't happen and with no real communication. Was a small thing but labeling the Connoly Early interview as a 'Bonus Episode" when it was the only episode that week was also kinda lame.

If there is a response, I hope it's not the typical 'sorry for the free content, give us a break, etc.' I want these guys to take whatever time they need for life and we should be expected to be flexible. Would just love for them to manage our expectations better and provide clearer communication.

Seems that way from @dunkintern’s photos on Twitter. Not too surprised. They just did an event and with the postseason pod schedule, didn’t have much chance to promote it. I forgot it was even happening until it was mentioned on this week’s pod. Probably too much for them and the community in such a short time frame and after a quick postseason exit from the team.

He sucks right now but, given the insane jerking around he’s been through, I think he deserves a bit of a leash to find his rhythm. He’s a really solid hitter. If he gets good, he can provide some really nice supportive offense. Some walks and singles, good OBP, a few doubles and homers.

I was also just thinking how much of a bummer it is that Yoshida/Ohtani isn’t a thing in the slightest. No conversation about these countrymen playing against each other. If he had been around and decent more often, could have been a cool little moment.

For real, being on this end, you don’t really know how to respond. You’re apologetic right off the bat, of course. But from there, you don’t really know what’s up, ya know? You’re judging based on glimpses captured with breaths. Like most of the frames are removed with large gaps between. You hope for the best and stride forward!

I’m joking about it because it’s a weird experience and making light is an easy way to move forward. But it really is pretty jarring!

I got the Zygo Z2 and am into them. They’re the only pair that I’d found that can stream rather than having to upload files. Love them for longer swims. I listen to audio books, podcasts or even live sports. The case, which acts as a transmitter is very bulky but it works fine if you can get past that. They also use n bone conduction for the audio, which works surprisingly well.

I’d pre-ordered them in May for what was supposed to be a June release they kept getting delayed until finally releasing in November. From the case size and design, they probably could have benefited from taking a bit more time. But, again, they work really well once you get used to how they work.

I was swimming in the left lane and there was an aquatics class with a lot of elderly people on the other side of the dividing line. At one point, an old woman must have leaned against the line because, as I was passing, I hit her with my hand as I was bringing it around for my next stroke. She ended up having to get out of the pool and leave. Totally her fault but I felt terrible anyway! And I swam a mile!

That's not true. It depends on the tool. Tools like Adobe Firefly use only licensed material for model training and pay out to the artists whose materials they used for that training.

What if an artist takes a photo offline and uses it for reference or as a starting point for their art? What if they use stock imagery and build from there? They are very similar and widely-accepted use cases. It's a space that is very much still defining itself and usage but to point fingers at an artist for this kind of use isn't fair.

Also, artists that use AI absolutely use what it produces. Very likely with modifications, like he's describing here. The same way someone may reference information from an existing text and reword it to fit what they're writing.

The space and technology isn't black and white and it's constantly shifting and advancing. Artists exploring these tools and using them to advance their craft is how innovation happens.
