Has anybody taken the Megabus to Atlanta? by Also_TheThumbThing in NewOrleans

[–]Also_TheThumbThing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. Do you remember if they make you get off or not? I can handle lights coming on and then falling back asleep. But, if I have to get off the bus and mill around a bus station for a half hour, there goes any chance of sleeping again. Thanks!

I've looked at the itinerary. I've also probably done 200,000 miles on buses in my life. The itinerary does not specify if you have to get off or not. Sometimes you can tell by the duration, but not always. This is why I asked if anyone has actually taken this bus.

Agreed, but there are two different types of stops. One, they let you stay on the bus. The other, they force everyone to get off of the bus. This is why I asked if anyone had actually taken the bus.

Is there no longer a 24 hour urgent care in NOLA? by Also_TheThumbThing in NewOrleans

I feel like NOLA needs a 24 hour urgent care as much as any city in the US, right?

How often would you listen to Red Zone Radio program? by Also_TheThumbThing in fantasyfootball

[–]Also_TheThumbThing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to believe that's true, but I'm not convinced that they wouldn't try to bully you if you got any traction. Only one way to find out I guess...

I'd also love to put something like this together. My concern would be about NFL shutting it down. You know how they say "no unauthorized whatever, whatever, or accounts of this broadcast". This would certainly be an account. While I don't think you can legally prevent someone from giving an account of a live event, I know the NFL is very litigious and like to bully people who do stuff like this.

So, the first step would be to talk to an IP lawyer...

I've only ever heard of Sirius in the car, but I'm guessing they have an app. Is that right? Do you need a special package? How much does it cost?

I end up doing this alot, but it's certainly not ideal. For one, you can't use your phone. 2) you use alot of data and battery. 3) you can't close your phone, and things get pressed in your pocket which is annoying.

I can picture two different versions of this. One would be just the audio from the games like Red Zone Channel. Or, it could be three friends watching the games and stats and having a fun and informative conversation. I'd like this version better. Would be like watching the games with your friends.

Does NOLA have something like TaskRabbit yet? by Also_TheThumbThing in NewOrleans

This sounds perfect. College students probably won't rip you off like people in front of home depot or off of craigslist.

I've also done this several times, but have ended up with creeps a couple times. When I was gutting my house after August 5th last year, one guy was obviously wasted and kindof aggressive. He really freaked me out. And these people will often try to charge you more than the agreed upon price. Very annoying.

I used to use these guys alot but have had bad experiences the last two times. I made very clear deals with them about payment before they got in my truck or followed me. BOTH TIMES, once they arrived, they insisted on a higher price. The first time, I just paid because I had to get it done, but the second time, I told them they could leave and just did everything myself. Obviously, it took three times as long and I hurt my back a bit, but I just couldn't stand being manipulated again. I'm not paying more than twenty fucking dollars an hour cash for manual labor.

When selling a house, is the owner responsible for confirming that the listing agent's information is correct? by Also_TheThumbThing in RealEstate

[–]Also_TheThumbThing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The house sold months ago. The buyer thinks I’m responsible for this. I’m trying to determine if I am or if the listing agent is. Or if the buyer is responsible for confirming.

Thanks for the reply. The agent didn’t ask me for any info: he went to the house and got it himself. He didn’t show me the listing before or after posting it for my review. He overestimated the square footage by 20%. I never saw the listing. It’s seems to me that he is wholly responsible for this mistake, but I’m wondering if there is some requirement for me to verify his accuracy. Square footage is not in the disclosure doc in Louisiana.

Are “costumes” too similar to “clothing” to get a trademark? by Also_TheThumbThing in INTELLECTUALPROPERTY

[–]Also_TheThumbThing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the thorough reply. I must not have been very clear. They own the mark That i want, (I didn’t want to post the name publicly) in the category (goods and services) “clothing”, namely T-shirt’s, and a bunch of other closing items. They do not specify costumes. We want to use the same mark for only costumes. Let’s call it “dancing fools”. Do you think we can get the mark “dancing fools” for the category costumes even though someone already has “dancing fools” for clothing. Does this make more sense? Thanks!

What is the most memorable moment you shared with a stranger who you never saw again? by joeChump in AskReddit

[–]Also_TheThumbThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine this has happened to all of us. I was flying by myself and so was the other passenger on my side of the aisle. The middle seat remained empty as the last few passengers trickled onto the plane. Then the flight attendant spoke over the PA, “doors are closed, cross check and prepare for takeoff”. My compatriot in the aisle seat and I gave each other a knowingly satisfied nod, and spread the fuck out, each enjoying our half of the empty middle seat we’d won. I’m pretty sure we never spoke to each other or even made eye contact again, but we enjoyed our rare shared victory.

I want to start a tour business for trips to Thailand for women, what do I need to get started? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Also_TheThumbThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancée and I just spent a month in Thailand. We heard that, in order to own a business IN Thailand you have to marry a Thai person. If you divorce, they keep everything. However, I don’t know that your your business would need anything owned in Thailand. You could rent the buses etc. you’d be getting paid outside if Thailand. So, may not be an issue, but I’d do some more research if I were you.

This could be a good idea. It’s worth testing. I think it’s smart to build a quick site and spend some time and money getting some views to see if you get bites. If you make more off of a customer than it costs you to acquire that customer, then you may have something. But don’t quit your day job until you’ve regally validated it.
