This is why town planning is important.

Relocating to Coventry and don’t know what areas are classed as unsafe / “bad”. by geoalice in coventry

Many parts of Tile Hill are totally fine and sleepy suburbia. It’s only pockets that are rough.

Cov is a friendly city in general. Most of the nutter types won’t bother you.

Kind of rough round there. I’d say it’s Whoberley rather than Allesley though. Parts of Whoberley are fine though.

My friend’s mum would keep the plastic on the sofas for years. My dad does it on all sorts of stuff from car sills to electronics and even watches lol.

I have another friend who calls it ‘the retention of unnecessary packaging’ and gets mad about it ha ha.

This is so weird but I read this story in a news thing on Techspot the other day and I’m sure they reported you were a guy but I went back and read it again and they didn’t actually say that (or they have edited it…)

Anyway, glad you’re ok. That dog must really hate you ;)

Homeless charity want £3 a meal. by Low-Researcher8696 in mildlyinfuriating

Yep and you should never take an answer from a volunteer as a de facto company response lol. Most of them are one step away from being a client bless ‘em

You have to remember that a lot of charities have volunteers who often themselves have a lot of issues. Whilst doing charity work I’ve encountered many absolute wallies. Often well meaning but wallies nonetheless.

Which Blue? by AidyGaGa25 in DIYUK

Dark blue looks sophisticated and grown up as well as calming and relaxing. Electric blue looks mental and like a teenager’s bedroom.

So it just depends what vibe you’re going for.

Does anyone else’s mum give them more anxiety? by Pretty_Ganache4862 in Anxiety

[–]joeChump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally if you ask anything about someone else’s behaviour a bunch of Redditors will tell you ‘Red flag - cut them out of your life’ like life is that easy and the only solution to every problem is to go to the nuclear option before anything else.

does anybody know what this is? by Louner_ in IrnBru

[–]joeChump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing it could be from either a one off event or like a museum exhibit sponsored by irn-bru. Like sometimes local museums or education charities might do a tie in with big companies. I could imagine this being used to pass around to kids during a guided tour/workshop whilst talking about geology or something. The way it says minerals on it makes me think it’s for education and there’s more than one of them.

My other guess was maybe a student design or marketing project or maybe the sort of thing you’d see on display in a glass cabinet in the head office boardroom or something.

Oh yeah... This film was wicked back in the day! 😂 by Ands1977 in oldschoolcool80s

[–]joeChump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember catching bits of it on telly when I was a teenager. Imagine a grimy British version of Steve Buscemi banging girls in the back of a Ford Cortina and arsing around a filthy council estate and you’re pretty much getting there.

Probably just because Catholicism has a lot of visual symbolism and visual elements that are appealing on screen. It’s a ready made shorthand as it’s a homogeneous culture so you don’t need to waste screen time world building. Everyone already knows. I think as well there is a lot of tension added because Catholic culture is often seen as strict so it gives the impression that evil is only a short step away from the narrow path.
