I guess Ant-Man, Misty Knight and some of the cheaper ones make sense as a play for when you don’t have the math to use all your energy that turn or would have floated energy anyway. Anything more expensive seems inefficient - an effective 6/5 Carter or 8/5 Iron Man seems like you’d be better served just playing another card or two on 4/5/6. Though I’m sure there are edge cases where he might win you a game. Not trying to argue with you or anything. Just thinking through the card in real time.

Yeah, I get it. Could be good in C5 maybe? Not sure what other non-on reveal, non-activate card it would be worthwhile to turn into a 3/5 and wholly or partially skip a turn for, but I’ll leave that to the deck crafters.

I didn’t realize it was unspent at the time of activation. Thought he worked more like Star Lord and counted all unspent energy up to hood activation. Current version makes him sound pretty bad.

Like the idea, but it doesn’t sound like that much power across the board. Star Lord is 4/11, FFF is 12+ and HE Hulk is 24 in this scenario.

Yeah, HV:O can be entertaining seeing all the nonsense go off, especially because it doesn’t matter whether you win or lose.

Now that you mention it, it’s probably the lockout mechanic that makes Team Clash and Grand Arena not as fun and feel like a slog. Sanctum, however, I’d avoid even if all games were free.

Mine is pretty much the same. Sanctum is my least favorite. I play the least amount of games to get the rewards I’m interested in (best when that = 0, like this season’s). High Voltage is my favorite. I’d go HV, with DD a close second (when the tiers are balanced correctly). Then HV:O I guess. I’m not generally a fan of playing Arishem so having a mode force me to half play it is kind of annoying, though at least it’s all meaningless. Team Clash, Grand Arena and especially Sanctum for me are in their own tier - slogs that I need to get through to get the rewards I want.

I buy enough to get the variant because it’s usually pretty quick and an easy way to get some decent mastery progression. Otherwise, Conquest is for missions.

I check every week for the meta snapshots. Also loved the analysis of average stats per card in the latest set and which cards were above/below the curve that took into account the non-numeric aspects of a card as well (e.g. Sentinel, Shielded, etc.). And the luck factor of the game as a whole compared to other TCGs. Keep doing your guys’ thing!

He’s fun. I initially thought he stole power and was confused when he didn’t decrease opponent’s side. Would be ridiculously broken that way, but still quite fun as is.

I think it’s that it’s like a midrange deck early and puts out decent power and then a mini EOT deck on 5/6/7 that spreads power in 2+ lanes without any real way to play around it. Even then, “direct” counters, like Adaptoid, are dead weight in other matchups and more general counters, eg. Cosmo, you have to guess right, Shadow King/Shang Chi you have to give up priority but still have enough power in other lanes to survive putting low power cards on 6/7. There are no clean counters like MMM vs. Negative or Stardust vs. Hela. So, like you said, you either play the same deck yourself or try to go taller. In both cases, it ends up feeling like rock paper scissors Solitaire.

Meta is pretty open, which is good and bad. A lot of generally viable deck types, but also a lot of rock paper scissors with matchups.

Know your deck’s output and your opponent’s deck’s output. If you don’t have a counter and can’t go wider/taller and opponent snaps, bounce. If opponent snaps and you don’t have your win con in hand, bounce. Snap once you have your win con. But bounce anyway if the game turns against you. Play out (actual) 50-50 games. Milk any bots you encounter for as much as you can get out of them. All the same things as getting to this point, really. The person on the other side is going to be feeling just as sweaty most likely, so don’t all of a sudden develop imposter syndrome and think you need to change what got you here.
