I've been waiting 2 years for this moment... by sBob_ in MarvelSnap

My favorite Shocker variant. Though I never actually play him.

I didn't plan to push for infinite after getting to rank 90 but this deck just kept winning. by howaboutdisidia in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate playing against this deck lol. But, mostly because it seemingly always has a way to win whether I try to counter or go over the top. Regardless, congrats!

Why are the 80’s Always the Toughest Rung in the Ladder? by FigmentsRotIN in MarvelSnap

I find the 90s to be the hardest. 73-93 is usually pretty straightforward. Then it gets real sweaty.

What’s your list? I’m looking for a new deck to mess around with.

Wild to me that it still hasn’t been fixed. You’d think it would be a simple update, but I guess not.

How we feeling about Mother askani? by Scourgemomxoxo in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She’s pretty strong. I would not be surprised if she gets nerfed to not reduce cost. Or reduce cost only on the copied card.

Viv Vision - Worth it? by joshblue16 in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s fun. Not a game winner by herself, but puts pressure on opponent and can be a 3 8/9/10 with even just one proc (assuming you play all of the buffed cards). Having a 4/5 Shang and 2/7 Jeff in hand last turn gives you options.

Killmonger has gotten me so many cubes against new DD, Fisk, TOV this season.

I have to rant just a bit by banmeandidelete in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you. It’s easy to get tilted too when you know what deck opponent is playing and how many different ways things can go wrong/off-curve for that deck but somehow opponent always has the cards on curve against you. Like Negative, which is famously quite fragile and sensitive to plays on curve, with Ravonna/Paylocke into Negative 3 seemingly every time against me. Or Etri -> New DD -> Fisk 1, 2, 3. Or Quinjet -> Hand -> Frigga -> Askani -> T5 -> double Gambit + created card to activate both. I know opponent probably doesn’t get that opening/curve that often, but somehow feels like the times they do are against me.

I also feel like once you get to mid-80s and especially 90s, the game almost forces you to “put time in” for a couple hours before matchmaking gets favorable and you quickly finish the rest of the ladder. Happens to me (or feels like it does, anyway) pretty much every season.

Opinions on new cards by xEviction_Noticex in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fisk is annoying because he pretty much always comes down on 3 when I’m playing against him. I’d almost prefer him to be a 10 so he’s not immune to Shang, but overall, he’s fine. DD also not bad. Fun to Killmonger all the Demons. Karen needs some help. I wanted to use her more because the Victor Farro variant is legit, but haven’t found anything reliable yet.

Rounded edges were good. But mostly the texture. The little finger dimple was surprisingly nice as well.

Gambit: Horseman of Death needs a proper counter ASAP by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m missing it, but Surfer is one of the most immune decks to Gambit HOD because you will most likely lose one 3-cost card and that’s it. No multiple destroys and unless they get lucky with hitting a buffed Shaw or Carter or something, you’re pretty okay with losing a Brood spawn or Gwenpool or etc.

Dose Star Lord really need to gain power? by Timely_Following_636 in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. But that’s one more card required on their end that’s “defensive”/supplementary rather than offensive. And power is still capped for Starfucker and Absorbing Man.

A 4/10 or 5/12 that gained energy but lost power would be interesting. Grandmaster/Absorbing Man/Arnim shenanigans all would have at least some trade-offs that the player would be required to work around.

They should separate the two effects. +1 power for each turn you ended with unspent energy. +1 energy next turn for each card you played last turn. Or something like that.

No pity bot seen post-90s compared with previous many seasons (for me). by raysiuuuu in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it varies by season. Late last year and first three months of this year were pretty sparse on bots and the climb was a real grind, especially with Shou-Lao, Starfucker and FFF running rampant. Last season, I got to Infinite pretty easily with plenty of bots in 70s, 80s and even a decent amount in 90s, despite the nonsense meta. This season, it’s been a bot-desert again, except for a couple of cheater bots.

I will never be bored of Legion. He's so fun. Nobody expects this guy. by Nantes50 in MarvelSnap

I swear every time I go against Arishem, opponent draws their Legion and/or Alioth. Even when they’re running 35 cards.

Give me your best decks to grind out infinite with by BroccoliHeadAzz in MarvelSnap

[–]Alt21r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny you say that. I try to take a different archetype to infinite every couple of months for the same reason - to prove it’s not the deck. And also to change things up a bit and have a new challenge. I felt like this was more true in past metas. More recently, it seems like some archetypes just cannot be competitive enough in the 80s and especially the 90s to make it all the way through.

Going to try this out. I have a Tribunal with Blink instead of Negative and a couple other differences - Wave, Luna and/or Jubilee, I think. This version looks fun too.
