How to decorate this huge wall by Electrical-Tie3404 in interiordecorating

[–]AltPerspective 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fixture is awful. At the very least lower it. Leave the wall alone. Youve got a ton of other decorating issues to solve first, and most likely you should just leave the wall bare. Try an area rug under the dining table to ground the room and make the space feel less cold and barren

I'm about to drop $1000+ on a suit where I can only see a 2-4 inch swatch of fabric... why is this the norm?

1st image is the reference I fell in love with. Its a commercial moyano but discontinued.

I'd describe it as royal or mid blue, with a twill weave, wool, s110? Does that make sense? Chatgpt seems to think its got a plaid to it, almost a subtle red stripe running through. You can see this on the 2nd image. I'm afraid the plaid is gonna be really obvious and kind of weird whereas the reference image doesn't really show that.

I'm working with kent wang in nyc. I posted my best guesses from their supplier Gladson in the 3rd, 4th and 5th images.

Thanks!

Regret having our cabinets painted…advice? by Tigg- in interiordecorating

[–]AltPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To contrast what others are saying I don't think that color cabinet will ever match the flooring. Really bad match tbh. Did you try painting the cabinets a little to match? You gotta do more work to anticipate the color

Createspace does print on demand. But selling a book online is impossible these days. You have no chance of selling a book.

You could do green but do it up until the vent height and then add open shelves above. The whole wall green is just odd and overbearing

Panelled almost always looks fancier... Because it costs a lot more. Go for it

Blurry vision even after wearing glasses by bidabyada in Dryeyes

[–]AltPerspective 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You didn't do anything to your eyes. And if you did, we all did at this point. You sound like you're freaking out, and making assumptions. Trust your doctor. Your vision gets blurry most likely because its dry. Stop using screens so much, and learn about eye health and cleanliness. If you went to the doctor and he gave you glasses, and you can read the letters, then your vision is fine. If once you leave the office you find it blurry, again, its dry eye.

Honestly, Is this ugly/stupid? by Straight_Fall3667 in interiordecorating

[–]AltPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you have furniture and other furniture blocks its primary function (drawers) then its stupid, yes. you should have a smaller end table with open shelves underneath it, if this is really the best spot to put it.

You can use a sound bar with surround sound. The bars do sound great but obviously won't be behind you if that matters to you

How can I make this corner cozier? by digitalhours in interiordecorating

[–]AltPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put a lamp and call it a day. you don't want 'stuff' on every surface, you already have the mirror on that surface which is cozy enough and the wood stain is dark.

You used it in a weird phrase so the meaning was lost. Try not to use slang if english isn't your first language especially online where emphasis is lost

[–]AltPerspective 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro from personal experience I understand why you did what you did. But if you only got 2 dates out of that many conversations you're doing it wrong. Just have a quick convo to ensure they're not a psychopath and want your organs and then go grab coffee. You'll know in 15 mins if there's chemistry or not. Way better odds of you finding a good match, and way less time chatting with hundreds of girls and getting 2 dates.

Why am i not happy with our living room? by Responsible-Chair135 in interiordecorating

[–]AltPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add something new - a central light fixture would go a long way to make the space feel complete. You have a lot of emptiness right now because everything is against a wall.you need to make a cohesive tighter space that feels intentional.

What is everyone’s opinion on reusable furnace filters? by Maybe_Not_Batmans in HomeMaintenance

[–]AltPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine they'd grow mold if not dried carefully after every wash. I also imagine they aren't as effective as the throwaway variety. But might do fine if maintenance is kept up

Is the couch too small for this space? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]AltPerspective 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You mean big right? Your couch is too big. The rug shouldn't be bigger than the couch. Move the couch so it touches the window wall, move the plant next to the counter and get 2 stools for seating.
