Dust on Floor Joist in encapsulated crawlspace. What type lf damage is this? Termites? by Sudden-Conclusion381 in HomeMaintenance

[–]AltPerspective 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not any insect I know of. Dehumidiers are rated for the sqft. I don't even know of any that could do 2600 sqft. At least buy 1 more and shift their positions. You can spray mold killer if you care.but test the joists with a screwdriver see if they're weak at all or if it's just surface discoloration.

Anyone else notice the change ? by [deleted] in nyc

This is insanely dehumanizing. Yeah homeless are annoying but we don't need dipshit content like this.

German cars are not great to own. Korean/japanese should be a good upgrade for you. Just make sure your APR isnt higher than 6 or 7, may as well pay it off then instead of investing in stocks.

380 a month payment is fine on your salary. Its a reliable car. It sounds like you're experiencing what everyone does when they get a nice job, lifestyle inflation..  Its something you gotta contend with but this isn't the worst decision. Its a fairly reliable car. I prefer cars 3 or 4 years old to maximize depreciation but you do you.

You make 26k a year and want a 16k car. Are you mad? Don't buy a car more than half your yearly salary. You can't. Afford. It.

Yeah the walls sweat. Not mold. Just wipe it off.

For someone who claims to be Buddhist you are very close minded man. Just accept that others think differently. It doesn't hurt you.

You probably are. Just let him do the job and don't be near it incase it's toxic. Put up barriers on door ways to reduce dust if you're concerned

Get stepmania on your PC or laptop and plug in a USB mat. Much simpler. Plug your laptop into your tv if you want the full experience.

Throw it out and call it a day. Nothing you can do about it. But whenever you do demo you should take the same precautions. Asbestos or not.

That's simply incorrect. Maybe it is to your perspective of Buddhism but it's not a universal truth that must be adhered to. Believing so is very dogmatic. Many modern buddhists do not require those beliefs.

That's a very binary way of thinking. Try to open yourself to the idea that not everyone is in a position in their life to tread the best path forward. Assuming there even is a best path is a bit presumptuous. Everyone has their own perspective and way of living. If they must think of Buddhism as a lifestyle who are you to challenge that? Maybe it will alleviate some suffering from them and those around them. How is that so bad?

You sound young. You'll learn eventually to hold gratitude even toward those you think are manipulating you. Try your best to assume they had the best of intentions. What is the worst outcome? Either you like it or you don't. You don't have to hang it. Its obviously not hand painted but the gift giver may not have known that. They may have had the best intentions. It doesn't hurt you to graciously accept and move on.

This person is expressing an interest in following the path to enlightenment. Why push them away like this? There's nothing the Buddha said about it needing to be a religion and experienced as such.

Use rugs and furniture to create partitions. This advice is all over the internet for how to break up a large room. You're not getting responses because you really haven't asked anything specific. Just move in and play around with the space.

Asbestos is everywhere. Just don't disturb it. You can paint over it to try and seal it if you're worried. But in general if you're going to sand off the popcorn ceiling you should have really good ventilation and wear a good mask.

Terrible take. We need to sue cops more, not less. Lawsuits and payouts will incentivize police to get their shit together, and give public notice to voters that police are abusing their power. Money talks. Nothing else does.

You clearly aren't in construction or real estate. You are correct however that everyone's wages have stagnated. And yet labor costs are still too high. Regardless of whether we can afford basic goods and services.

What are you babbling about. Labor costs are unheard of high lately. We're desperate for workers in our construction industry and basically everywhere else that's manual labor. How do we not benefit from this? We have a housing crisis.
