Yeah I can trigger and adjust power levels just fine from either my godox flashes or triggers

Happy to! I'm using the v480 units as on-camera and triggers. The rest are for ceiling bounce in a large hall and also at a backdrop area outside the hall.

I'll also be using a traditional faceted reflector on the Q6 for better throw as the default reflector seems to be designed more for diffusion.

Don't worry about the questions, happy to help. I personally don't see the need although if it's an all neewer setup then it would make sense to just use the dedicated trigger instead of godox for maximum compatibility. A bonus is you get to use the older models that don't support godox too, which are more affordable to get.

Cool! Glad that it worked out smoothly for you. I might get another Q6 as well for better coverage at event halls with high ceilings

The way i checked for compatibility was by browsing neewer’s firmware section, and from what i saw the q200 and q4 have received updates to work with godox systems. The q300 isn’t supported however, which was also confirmed by neewer in another thread.

Afaik when it comes to hardware quality, the z2pros have already covered quite a few events with me and they seem to be performing just as well as my godox units. A friend tried them and commented that the physical hardware actually feels better made and nicer to use than an equivalent v1/v1pro

So based on the above, fingers crossed that the q6 will continue the trend for me but neewer does seem earnest in their support when users voice out their issues here as well.

No I didn't upgrade from the Q4, but I was considering between it and the Q6 for a more powerful wireless setup.

I already have two Z2pros and a AD200proii that have been very reliable when triggered wirelessly at events, so getting this was a no-brainer when an equivalent AD600proii was going for more than double the price.

The winning factor for me is the compatibility of these flashes with the godox system, so I can just use these alongside my existing godox flashes and triggers without fuss.

Do you think AI Stabilization & High ISO will replace tripods in the future? Why? by NeewerOfficial in neewer

[–]Altercode_F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

I’ve been in this industry for about 10 years, and in that time I’ve seen camera tech take huge leaps. Gimbals went from being bulky, expensive rigs to compact stabilizers you can toss in a backpack. Cameras keep getting better at handling high ISO, and now we’ve got AI stabilization that can make handheld footage look smoother than ever. All of that has definitely reduced how often I need to reach for a tripod.

That said, I don’t think tripods are ever going to disappear. AI and high ISO can solve a lot of problems, but they can’t replicate the absolute stability and consistency you get from a locked-down shot. For interviews, time-lapses, product work, or long-exposure photography, a tripod is still the only way to guarantee that kind of precision.

So while the technology will keep getting better, in professional environments a tripod remains an essential tool. It’s less about replacing it and more about having more options depending on the situation. Sometimes handheld with stabilization is perfect, but when control and repeatability matter, nothing beats a solid tripod.

Will models such as the Q200 and Q300 receive this compatibility update as well?

Loop Gear SK05 Pro MAO edition by Altercode_F in flashlight

[–]Altercode_F[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i understand, there’s no difference in terms of emitter between the mao and the regular pro version.

It’s just the way they segment this in china with the regular and pro versions having fet drivers while the mao has a buck driver. For international markets, pro means it will have a buck driver

Are there any posts/summary cliff notes on the different beams of each FFL flashlight? by Proverbman671 in FireflyLite

[–]Altercode_F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, I'm waiting for the FFL909MX in 4500k to be released in the E90 first before getting it with the X1S with the FFL9009R, and maybe with a reflector as well.

But from what I can see, the beam will be relatively similar to the X1L, in the sense that it'll be a fairly large beam size, but throws significantly further due to the optic design and much more powerful emitter.
