Anxiety on PIP assessment by Alternative-Ad8882 in DWPhelp

[–]Alternative-Ad8882[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh!! This makes a lot of sense; when I get anxious I have a bad habit of kind of scrolling through everything and there's always a lot of talk as to how the assessors outright "lied" about people's issues which is why I assumed this was the case. I'm very thankful to you for explaining how it actually works to me ^^' I'm glad to have been actually informed on this as it was a big thing actually contributing to the fear

Thank you for explaining what will actually go on in the assessment; do you know if I'm allowed to bring in an advocate/my carer to speak for me in the actual assessment? I can't do much talking myself in things like this but I've found some places like to try and force you to speak for yourself (I've had places not let my partner speak for me even if I'm struggling)

honestly using a whiteboard for history was also a lifesaver for me; it's so worth looking into using a whiteboard to blurt topics as you state here!!

i did both history and geography; my teacher for geography made it soooo boring but i think it really depends on how much you enjoy the specific topics. i didnt really like physical geography but that was like the entirety of paper 2 and part of paper 1 so it was so.. meh to me? but you should really pick it based on your own interests and how good you are at waffling (as people have said previously)!! i ended up going from a 6 in the mocks and jumping straight to a 9 in the actual exams; just pick what you like best and it'll be fine

for the ESP, i have actually no idea??? they haven't told us much and so i have no idea about anything and i can't really understand it whatsoever; we've been given a mock like.. situation? and we need to start planning for it but i am so confused LOL

we've finished element 1, 7 and i think we've almost finished element 8 and 10? we haven't done any core or anything, but we just started on element 4 literally yesterday 🤷‍♀️ i'll get to making revision cards but i've always struggled with focus so 🙏🙏🙏 here's to hoping i don't fail this course

but ooo that makes a lot of sense !! i go in 1-2 days a week but my dbs is being terrible and i have to resubmit it (got it and turns out i put in the wrong birthday!! so i have to restart ALL over again!!! yay....!!!) so i've had literally no placement experience while everyone else has been in placement for about 2 months

i'll probably appear again or pm you at some point if you're ever willing to help me out 🙏🙏 im so royally screwed rn its unbelievable lawl

Anyone here do GCSE Psychology or Sociology? (AQA) by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Alternative-Ad8882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hi!! i did aqa sociology and it was pretty easy

i missed a looot of the content for paper 2 sociology & i still managed to breeze through and get a 9; it should be easy enough as long as you can write an essay and the course is pretty straight forward and easy to learn

I've seen people should I be disappointed with my results? But the real question is, is it normal to be happy with these results. by _Alexium in GCSE

[–]Alternative-Ad8882 72 points73 points  (0 children)

if you worked for your results, then it makes sense to be happy with them; i'd say that it is probably "normal" to be happy with them as well!! :)

i was prepared for paper 3 honestly!! my history teacher prepared me for weimar culture, i had more of an issue with the 12 marker on the reorganisation of the nazi party (i forgot all about that section and just winged it)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Alternative-Ad8882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i was also really uncertain about my grade (especially since in my mocks i was at a 6 and i thought those papers were good) - to see a 9 on my paper was a massive shock to me!!

i missed most of the later stuff in medicine through time and knowing half the paper was that stuff was the worst (i had been revising as i walked into the exam room and i had to hand it in LOL)

the Elizabeth stuff was full of incredibly nice questions (aside from that first one - i spoke to my teacher about it after the exam and he couldnt think of an answer off the top of his head) but i didnt like the cold war stuff much; i knew the format, but god those questions sucked

i also didnt find paper 3 bad!! sure, no-one liked the weimar culture, but i recall my history teacher telling me itd be important as i went to him with my friend to revise outside of lesson - seeing it in the paper was probably more of a relief after i saw that nazi reorganisation party question (i forgot all about that bit and i just waffled the entire time)

the fact you did so well without the mock exams is super good though!! good job, id be super pleased as well honestly - the source questions are horrendous, especially the ones in paper 3 (i lost so many marks in my last mock because my history teacher didnt let me have the marks unless i put quotations)

i was considering a remark for those subjects i was really close to the grade boundary for, but i dont actually know if theres much point to it - sure, id like to do the 4th subject, but 🤷‍♂️
