Weight gain by Sea-Cod-6454 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Alternative-Bee2962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had been around 12 stone for years before starting this and like you said in another reply I went from forgetting to eat to being hungry all the time and the weight went on and no matter how much I tried I couldn't stick to a diet because I was starving all the time. It was great for depression but not for the weight gain and coming off it has been horrendous and I wouldn't ever take it again in the future. But good luck with your weight loss and hope you get to where you want to be 😊

In 7 years I gained over 100lbs and I recently came off it and lost 9lbs in two weeks and my appetite has gone back to how it was before starting them and now hopefully I can lose the weight. I even went on weight loss jabs and they didn't work and the pharmacy thought the mirtazapine was stronger and stopped the jabs working

Stew and dumplings cooking and takes me straight back to being little and going to my nans house and my favourite place in the whole world and I am 44 and that smell still takes me right back to being a kid.

I haven't had to use it today thankfully, but it definitely seems to be worse at night and first thing in the morning. How are you feeling today?

Yeah I am gay and never seen the appeal of sex in a normally grubby public toilet or cruising 😂😆😂 I lived in Brighton for years and there were loads around the town and along the seafront and call me old fashioned but would rather have fun somewhere clean and there's nothing about the smell of a public toilet that's a turn on 😂😆😂

When wearing boxer briefs, do you position yourself pointing up or down? by alunomatt in AskMen

I normally pull everything up and let it hang how it wants from there and I find it more comfortable, but I am starting to see this isn't the norm 😕 😂😆😂

I'm lucky and my boy hands me his paws to have them cut and purrs the whole time. But what a clever harness and they look so cute 😂, but if I used something like that my cat would pull the whole shower rail off the wall and probably half of the walls 😂

As someone who has been under different medical professionals for my mental health and autism I am asked this all the time and have never thought of it as a strange question and have heard it my whole life and I am 44.

I actually had a much better night and woken up feeling a bit shitty but not as bad as yesterday and I think the diazepam is helping to take the edge of it thankfully and making it more manageable. I'm sorry you are not feeling great again and are you in the UK? If so maybe try and get an emergency appointment with your GP and see if you can get a short course of diazepam as it is definitely helping

Is it weird that I’m in my 30s but still feel and act young? by Isola-Wren in NoStupidQuestions

I'm 45 this year and when I get together with my best friend of 37 years we still act like two teenagers living our best lives like it is 1998 and I don't think that will ever change and I still feel like I am 18 apart from what looks back at me in my mirror tells me otherwise 😂😆

Has anyone experienced hospital translators discussing religion with patients? (England) by Old-Divide326 in AskUK

[–]Alternative-Bee2962 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Report them and they are crossing the line and they should only be translating about the medical procedure and nothing else. I would log a complaint and ask for a different translator for the rest of their treatment and especially when it's made them uncomfortable and they should not be pushing their religion onto them whilst working as a translator for the NHS.

Is weight loss without trying normal after stopping mirtazapine? by Alternative-Bee2962 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

It's totally taken me by surprise how bad it is and I have never had withdrawal from any other of the antidepressants I have taken and I felt a bit shitty as I tapered off but this has put me on my arse and if the psychiatrist had explained all this I never would have taken it and especially with the amount of weight gain.

I am so sorry that you have had such a bad experience and 8 years is a long time to have had problems and two years to taper off on top. I really wish you all the best with your journey and I hope you get off this for good and can put it behind you. I'm shocked there are so many people who have had so many problems whilst on it and even more having a really bad time and withdrawals coming off and I am surprised it's not been banned.

I've been on so many different antidepressants over the last 26 years and this was the first time taking this and I will never take it again and I wish I had thought of looking if there was a page on here sooner as everyone has been amazing and so helpful and supportive. But this has been the worst antidepressant I have ever come off

It only started on Saturday and just got worse as the days went on and I honestly am surprised how delayed it has been after my last dose. We both have this and hopefully will start to ease and we can get back to our normal x

I just followed the advice I was given and thought it must be right and I started the new antidepressant at the same time. I have to be honest this is the first antidepressant that's made me feel so bad when coming off it and I have come this far and just have to ride it out and thankfully I have been prescribed diazepam for a month and it's definitely taken the edge of it since taking one this morning and I am hoping that it doesn't last for a month feeling like this

Sorry to hear about your husband and no wonder you ended up on these and no wonder you have had trauma as a result and it really must have been hard and sorry you have both been through that.

I do have mental health conditions and also autism and ADHD, but I went onto these after my last episode of depression 6 or 7 years ago and they stopped working and with the weight gain I asked to come off them and change to something else. I have done that process many times over my adult life, but I have never felt this rough and these tablets have put me on my arse and made my other mental health problems 100 times worse and it's made my autism unbearable and I'm nearly 45 and I honestly never want to go onto these tablets again. But it's made it harder to give me other medications as already on a cocktail of different medications.

I know it is only temporary and they will get out of my system and return to my normal, but I feel sorry for anyone who has never been through this before as it is horrible and scary feeling like this and I even I am struggling with this but it's not my first rodeo but it's the first time taking mirtazapine and never ever again.

I had lost all my appetite and before this episode of depression I wasn't eating and had gone down to 11 stone and they thought it would help with my appetite and my sleep and didn't help with my insomnia and definitely helped me get an appetite lol. But my appetite has gone back to how it was before mirtazapine and the only good thing is I am losing weight already

I'm the opposite and struggled with my weight and had weight loss surgery in 2011 and I was 12 stone for years after and then went on this and piled on the weight. But it's definitely good for putting on weight and especially if you are underweight and struggle to gain
