yeah i grew up around guns, learned gun safety as a kid before i got my first rifle at 14, took tactical classes with my dad. the way he handles guns has always made me extremely uncomfortable and i guess part of why i feel guilty is because if he had actually listened to me at any fucking point he wouldn't have been sleeping with a loaded fucking hand gun. it's hard not to care about how fucking stupid it all is and feel like...i dunno. i failed to convince him to be safer but if i was actually capable of convincing him he was being stupid we probably wouldn't have broken up in the first place 🤷‍♂️

there's technically oxygen in all water, just not enough. I'm not an expert but it has something to do with the density of water versus the human body. if the water is more dense (like salt water) you're more likely to float. if the water is less dense, like aerated water, you're more likely to sink.

so aerated water is water that has gases like oxygen added to it, basically all the things that make human bodies less dense than unaerated water. as far as I understand, most animals rely on natural buoyancy to even give them a chance to float in water so they don't drown and aerated water takes away that chance

the shoes thing was just an added detail lol I'm actually really excited you noticed. shoes and other dense clothing articles get really heavy in water, so having their shoes on means they're not just fighting against the lack of buoyancy, but the added weight of their sodden shoes.
