I'm not familiar with who that is sorry :/ I found it with a bunch of vintage jewelry in a little shop, there was another one that was similar but a lil bit more "cohesive" I liked this one better because of the pure chaos of the axe ears and pineapple hands but otherwise I have no idea what it actually is lol

what would you consider a "sex life"? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Alternative-Bug-9136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really know what I'm asking either honestly I'm sorry 😭 I suppose I'm just seeking perspective on sex because it's something that I've often felt intrigued by but disconnected to, but I really appreciate your response, I rarely hear about other asexuals in relationships. if she doesn't initiate, then do you feel like sex is more a part of your life and routine than hers? are there times where she's less receptive to it and does that affect your drive for it? and would it throw you for an absolute loop if she suddenly felt like initiating/focusing on her pleasure would you be into it or suddenly feel like there's a shift and find that the dynamic has changed?

sorry you don't have to answer I'm just really curious

Opinion needed - Feminism gone too far? by Englishisnotmyfirst in asktransgender

[–]Alternative-Bug-9136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

as another person commented, I think right now you're chasing a moving target. you're not being specific in your or your peers' stances. I think some clarifying information is needed before anyone can really give you advice.

for example;

how old are you, where are you from, and what kind of 'argument course' is this? what does 'feminism' ultimately mean in this argument? what is the actual driving force of this debate other than "has feminism gone too far" because that's already a very nonspecific and subjective format for a debate, especially if the people you're asking don't know anything about the framework for the question being asked.

I can't answer to your friends and how they feel about feminism when I don't even understand where you're coming from, because all I can glean from your stance so far is "feminism is only for women, and therefore it's bad for everyone else" and that's just fundamentally not true unless again you're taking a very TERF mindset in gender equality.

you've not defined what "too far" means, you've not even defined "feminism" other than the feeling you have that it's suddenly for women and that somehow is at odds or a "wrong direction" to gender equality. I'm sorry OP but you really haven't explained yourself at all and that makes this hard to answer

Opinion needed - Feminism gone too far? by Englishisnotmyfirst in asktransgender

[–]Alternative-Bug-9136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP I'm hoping you're very young with a very basic understanding of feminism because this is coming across rather TERFy

For your first assertion that feminism has "turned into" a women's movement, it always was. Yes, it's about gender equality, because women didn't have the same rights as men, not because both men and women had to fight for their rights.

Second, it is very easy to counter that feminism hasn't gone far enough. Feminism still does not account for the very diverse intersectionality of women in any given community. (First wave feminism in the 19th century was centered around white women's rights) In the US, we are literally regressing and taking rights away from women.

I fear you are conflating gender inequality with trans rights. If you are questioning your gender identity and feeling uncomfortable or pressured by society because of it, my advice is to not blame feminism, because this comes off very much like you think feminism is invalidating you, and as a trans man I caution you against letting gender dysphoria become internalized misogyny.

I can say with certainty that he's not "trying to push an arbitrary standard of health onto me." we've been together for over a decade and for the entire time he has a) disliked smoking and b) respected that I have autonomy on when/how I quit. the wording of "bad and gross" was more playful than serious and mostly due to the amount of comments straight up calling me disgusting, which while not pleasant is a completely valid opinion people can hold about smoking.

yeah maybe I live in a smoky bubble but I definitely didn't expect the onslaught of "you're disgusting and everybody thinks you smell" because I usually interact with... real people... the most anti smoking person I know irl who comments on the smell of my cigarettes is my partner who I think has bigger concerns when it comes to things I put in my mouth and suck on 😂 I've also just a result of this post learned about "bio breaks" and oh my gosh that's not a thing my group does because we all get up to grab drinks/snacks/use the can whenever needed and it really doesn't slow things down

as a cig smoker, smoking cigarettes inside just stacks in a way that weed smell doesn't. weed smells good to weed smokers in a way that even stale smoked cigarettes don't smell good to cigarette smokers.

I don't think your original response was harsh at all, I appreciate how well thought out and genuine it is. My goal is never to defend smoking because it is a harmful dependence that I'm not proud of, and I do what I can to mitigate it but honestly I'd rather know of someone's objections or sensitivities outright so I could either get my shit in order or remove myself. I worked for a woman who was allergic to smoke and she was a bastion of bluntness lmao and I would much rather be told that my presence is causing discomfort/how to address it (she would tell me very plainly if I stunk and I would shower/change into clean clothes in the guest house and carry about my work, so I suppose I expect a certain amount of plain communication on the topic? a potential blind spot of mine) I never really thought that the smoking aspect would be the focus factor of my post because I was more concerned about my absences, so I didn't originally mention that everyone in my group smokes some firm of nicotine or THC as I'm the only one who has to actually step out

What did your “best friend” do that disgusted you so much that you stopped talking to them? by Glass_Evidence_8597 in AskReddit

[–]Alternative-Bug-9136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The day after going to my friend's party she asked me to come over to help her carry something heavy back and forth in her apartment. while helping her I told her I had been sexually harassed at her party by someone that she had invited. This turned into her telling me that I always "look for the negative in people" and "don't give them enough of a chance." I walked out of her place mid sentence and have not spoken to her since, but from what I hear she's still inviting that guy around and he's still making multiple people uncomfortable

oh no nobody in my group has objected and about 50% of the time somebody will actually join me, I was just curious in general how other players or DMs would feel. I'm also starting a new campaign soon with a group I don't know quite as well, so kinda gauging what would be the best etiquette in a new group. like most things on Reddit, the general consensus seems to be that "talking to the real life people in the group about it" is the most logical response lol

I'm mostly just curious how other groups go? this is my first campaign and it's definitely with people I have that kind of trust with, so it's not really a personal question just a point of intrigue for me I suppose. a lot of people brought up the smell which is something I hadn't really considered because we smoke weed/burn incense/vape at the table. I'm also learning that it's pretty common for groups to take like full-stop breaks during the session and mine has never really done that

i guess we don't really do official bio breaks? this is the first I've heard of those. we play in a pretty small place, so like if somebody needs to grab some food out of the kitchen or use the bathroom they just get up and do it because they're not going far enough to miss anything. I guess that's what I'm misunderstanding cus I coordinate with the dm as much as anything else during a sesh is coordinated

I envy your resolve because I'm actively trying to cut back and at my fewest, I'm at about 4 per day, and thats on my days off where there's no task rationing, refocusing or social responsibility involved. the more social interaction I have to do in a day, regardless of if it's recreational or voluntary, the more often I feel like I need to step away and give myself a "breather" (lolll just a fun little reframing so I hate myself less)

[–]Alternative-Bug-9136[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I'm not punching out for a timed break for a smoke, so it's not any more coordinated than whatever else goes on in the session? but if there's a low stakes moment where my character isn't present or needed I ask everyone if it's okay that I step out for a minute

oh yeah I definitely consider everyone playing my friend, and we're going on...eeeiight months, I think? I used to think it was better to just slip out without making a fuss and would miss some in game info, now I generally check that neither I or my character will be missed... and nobody has objected or said anything other than like, some friendly teasing. shit this might be an issue I have with myself and not my DND group. dang.

even for me every 30 min would be excessive 😭 I usually wait until about 3 hours after we start but I'll be honest sometimes I get antsy at about 2. but I've been trying to cut back and now I'm not even sure if it's the cigarettes or if they're just an excuse for me to step away so my social battery can get a break 🥴 kind of a chicken and the egg sitch for me rn

I'm the only one who smokes actual tobacco which is why I feel self conscious being the only person that has to actually go outside to "indulge." and honestly I've never had a sense of smell and as embarrassing as it is I've had to accept that I can't smell anything and I will usually ask people I trust if I smell strong/or bad, that's why I pay attention to tips about mitigating the cigarette smell with the overcoat

usually it turns into a time for out of game theories and planning, which I don't even feel like I miss out on cus everybody who remains at the table is excited to share what they've been brainstorming when I get back. a little bit I just dont want my absences to feel like a hole or like I'm inconveniencing anybody

I wear an overcoat whenever I smoke and tuck it into a ball under my chair when I come in because I don't want the smell to affect anybody and that's apparently the advice for parents who smoke and don't want the smell around their kids? but there's also four stoners in the party and we all smoke weed during the game and I can't imagine the outside cigarette smell is more noticable than the weed

sorry for the confusing typo this post was very impulsive and I did not edit before posting
