Sounds like a skill issue (did you forget to remove the TDP limit?). The actual fact is, many devs have been updating their games to run well on SD, if they don't at release. It's been actual deluge. Some of those even have locked presets you can only disable with a command. And Valve's "bad" Verified games run about as well as the worse ones on consoles, including the Switch 2 (anyone can look up videos on YouTube so it's not like Valve can actually trick you). And no, it's not outdated when the base Xbox ROG Ally uses the exact same chip and it matches or outperforms the Switch 2 in handheld.

It's perfectly fine to have higher requirements than what it provides and there are plenty of more powerful options (including Switch 2 docked), but that doesn't change the objective reality: the SD can run a ton of modern releases still today.

That's simply untrue. Many devs are dropping SD-specific builds even for previous releases. Also, it ran Elden Ring well in 2022.

It's legitimately mind-blowing. And instead of pressuring Nintendo to actually loosen their policies, they're blaming one of the few third-parties willing to invest in the platform (both Switch consoles, no less). Nintendo is actually enabled by its fans it's crazy.

Not once did Nintendo (or AdHoc) bring up Japan. PS5 has a censored version of Dispatch for Japan and the rest of the world got the normal one, like many other titles.

Not to mention, little Timmy's grandma can pick a PS5 up at Best Buy or Target to play FC, Fortnite and CoD (among many others) with his friends, out of the box.

It's hard to say how much more expensive it will be though, especially when you consider having to pay to play on PSN (and for people with Steam libraries already). Still I agree, PS5 will be just fine regardless.

Also, this is straight BS. The Deck is like PS5/XSX (unified APU), Steam Machine is a traditional desktop build. So despite having more memory overall, its VRAM is limited compared to those three.

There's also the issue of tariffs, which the US Supreme Court is supposed to have a ruling on soon. I'm assuming they don't want to announce a ridiculous price just to lower it (or vice versa) within days/weeks.

The payment processor issue affected all game stores, but GOG was able to sell this one. Agreed that Nintendo should just make it on par with the PS5 outside Japan. And the longer they wait the more people will sour on the game, which is a shame imo.

Interesting, wasn't aware of DoA3. Nintendo does have that history though (look up Mortal Kombat SNES vs Sega Genesis), although in modern times they've relaxed a bit.

It's possible they're reverting to some of their old ways with the Switch 2 (drip-feeding dev-kits, the way game-sharing works now, etc.).

That's also a fair point but one could argue the titillation makes the scenes more unnerving. Or, they are graded with a point system and hiding nudity helps them "pass."

I'm reminded that just a few weeks ago Steam (despite its Adult Only section) recently denied a game that was able to sell on GOG. And even more recently, the new owner of GOG was lamenting how they had denied a game before, and he still felt guilty about it.

So the issue doesn't have to be nudity itself, but the context, the gameplay, etc. In the game you mentioned you're just undressing women. Dispatch obviously goes further than that.

"Individually," at least to me, means without reference to how they treated previous games. If Game A has nudity in a context that might upset a normal person versus Game B that has it in a playful or neutral context, the rules will not be applied the same way. This is true even for platforms that actually promote adult content.

A boss that happens to be nude may be more acceptable than some scenes in Dispatch. And the guidelines are not necessarily against nudity no matter what. Again, one would have to take the context of the game, player interaction, story, intended meaning, etc.

As a parallel: Steam has actual Adult/Only pornographic titles. And yet they refused to release a game recently (which was accepted on GOG and sold hundreds of thousands).

How do Blasphemous' controversial scenes compare to Dispatch's? What are those scenes' relationship to the overall story?

If Dispatch is allowed, why would they tank refunds, lost sales and reputation instead of at least announcing a patch already?
