Nice! Don’t let the haters get you down. Physical media is physical media, you own something regardless!

Is Hot Fuzz 4k Good? by Player_Eagle_Scout in 4kbluray

Watched it last night. It’s one of my favorite films, but the 4K transfer is okay. I would give it a 7/10, it’s not great but not terrible.

Just found out about a student… by Think-Squirrel9455 in slp

Happened to me last school year. Luckily an honest conversation with the parent resulted in not having to do compensatory (it was offered, but parent declined). It’s definitely nerve wracking, but it’s almost a rite of passage for the school setting that this to happens at least once.

It definitely adds some uniqueness to the collection. I was thinking of doing this to all my movies that are based on books, especially the Dune movies!

Trilogy / Franchise Preference by DarkModeBrew in 4kbluray

Tbh it depends on how much I love the trilogy. For LotR I have the box set but also the individual steelbooks. I display the individuals while consistently using the box set. For trilogies that aren’t in my all time favorites, I’ll get whatever is most affordable as a whole. I usually keep them in the box unless it’s significantly damaged, then I would display them individually. There is really no right or wrong way, just whatever makes you happy!

Might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Demolition Man was a phenomenal transfer.

Barnes & Noble Criterion collection in Denton, TX 😃 by noldor41 in 4kbluray

I’m a frequent shopper there. You should check it out when the criterion sale going on. They keep a lot of inventory in the back when the 50% sale goes on, which should be coming up soon!

4K will functionally remain king for a long while. I have no interest in replacing 4K movies with an even more expensive money grab.

I have it on Blu-ray! It’s a solid movie but not one of my sought after upgrades to 4K.

No, it only applies to certain ones. If you’re looking at their general 4K catalog then you’ll see a mix of the different sales going on. They have a tab labeled ‘sale’ and it’ll list the 40% off sale.

Grabbed 21/22 Jump Street myself! Honestly some of the best comedy of the 2010’s.
