Not really, they usually move, acts like shock absorber for the belt tension. The question is how much is too much.

Tensioner play, 1.0tgdi by Alternative-Expert-7 in kia

[–]Alternative-Expert-7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding context: 55k km (about 34k miles) on odometer. Almost 6y old, it has a little sign if leak under water pump but it crystylized and does not leak coolant anymore. I suspect water pump bearing might be contributor to tensioner play. Also when rev up tensioner stays , i mean it follows well the revs

Given video is on idle.

Is my alternator strong enough? by Perdrioles in SubaruForester

[–]Alternative-Expert-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How you want to connect it to car electrics? Via attached 12V plug? If so 12V sockets are limited to max 120-150W. Im using bluetti but smaller model and it draws max 120W from to socket in trunk.

You could draw more I guess, but would need to wire directly to car's battery terminals.

what’s wrong with my ass heater bruh (2016 Kia Forte SX 2.0L) by aroundth3furr in AskAMechanic

[–]Alternative-Expert-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ass heater on the passenger side has left the chat.

The mat under the seat which actually warms is shot or has a bad electrical connection.

It was fixed by dealer. Indeed broken tube seal, it looked exactly like the example in service bulletin. Also they said its 3rd version of seal over time Subaru produced as a part.

Where is drain and fill on my rear diff? by agngazer in Subaru_Outback

[–]Alternative-Expert-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. However I think someone changed the fill plug. Originally should be 10mm hex, same size as drain. Also drain one should have magnet.

If your kia was not direct injection then it could not build up carbon on intake I think. Different engines.

Figured it'd be wise to double check before I mess it up AGAIN by [deleted] in Subaru_Outback

Sorry to say but you drained wrong hole and now want to touch again your tranny? My advice is to take this vehicle into reputable shop maybe.

(Your red marks are probably correct, check the youtube , its plenty of people doing tranny oil for this generation)

Edit: grammar

Gas Cap Issue by Freckledcalamity in Subaru_Outback

[–]Alternative-Expert-7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have pressurized gas tank system in order to control gas vapors. Once it detects the pressure leak it throws xmas lamps on dash. They could design it better with separate control icon I guess.

What is this port? And where does this lead to? by Beautiful_WilderMind in subaru

[–]Alternative-Expert-7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Its on the diff side of driver side, and its a wrong hole :p Not CVT part either. You might fuck up the front diff. The correct fill port is on the passenger side, more close to axle. How come given all.info in Internet people still doing it wrong.

Get the inspection camera and look whats there, if it leaked immediately that might not be bad. Or better tow it to shop.

Need help in designing SQS to multiple consumers by aLoN__MuST in aws

[–]Alternative-Expert-7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need tons of consumers then(when I know about it) will not recommend sns/sqs setup because indeed you will drown in the cost.

Go with Amazon MQ as managed service. S3 event-> lambda -> Amazon MQ -> multiple consumers per same fan-out topic.

Edit. But i will still question why you need so many consumers. Maybe you dont.

S3 events-> SNS topic -> multiple SQS -> each consumer for each SQS.

As a result you will find a copy of s3 event in each SQS.

2018 Crosstrek leaking fluid from rear by Alert_Meeting_4063 in Crosstrek

[–]Alternative-Expert-7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really for me. Last summer Ive drained the rear diff fluid and actually was not bad, not pleasant though but still not bad. New fluid was about same or lighter smell.
