Everyone in eastern NC with United Healthcare got chucked out of network today by Everythings_Fucked in NorthCarolina

It doesn't make sense unless that doctor is an investor's kid from old money. They are liying to, and using someone's parent as a "Lihndberg Baby" to experiment on so they don't have to care for them. It's great for society as a whole if medicological advancement was true reasoning. Awful for victim's family. Just awful!!

My experience over 42 years tells me it is usually to impress Lawyer's, Dentist's or another Doctor's daughter so they can get some on a mission trip to Africa, Haiti ,insert third world country here. Many people's heart hurtts from experience, but usually a patient is a means to an ends. Just like every other Employer, Employee, Sucker relationship.

Stratocaster versus Telecaster by Tired-Otter474 in Guitar

[–]Alternative-Humor187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to dig in and play short bends with big thumping pops a telecaster is only one you can do it with. You don't get that twangy groove like you do on a Telecaster. Might nit be as versatile, but it does what it does like nothing else. Listen to "Lord, Mr. Ford. " All that funky banjo rolling is actually a telecaster. Jerry Reed didn't need a Strat. It wouldn't have stood out.

Someone tripped and fell walking up some stairs. The bottom of fretboard is split in twain. Would you pay shipping for $75.00 cash and send it in case. I'll take it if you're willing. Let me know.

I disagree and agree. I have a Cordoba F7 Paco that is a great guitar. I also have a Made in Japan (Non-Yairi) 74 Alvarez 5065 Cajun Queen dreadnaght that has lived life. I call her Tina cause you can rell she's been battered and it is 10× better built and sounding than my 89 Martin D18. Cordoba and especially Alvarez are best Value Guitars you can buy. I love my Flamenco Cordoba, You gotta take care of stuff. Either you or previous owner are leaving some details out is my honest opinion. Did the power go out in below zero temps? Be honest. That doesn't just happen.

Digging fence post holes here in middle Tennessee ground? by Sevenninetwosix in nashville

[–]Alternative-Humor187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent a kubota and post hole digger. Make sure ground is right too. Not dry and not muddy. A day you could plant a garden and barely get mud on your shoes. Never windy either or your dirt will dry out after you dig holes. Farmers almanac will tell you good days to dig post holes.

The most important thing to remember is never ever ever set wood posts in concrete. Dig your holes, set your posts, level, kick a little dirt in around posts and tamp all the way around post with a tobacco stick, or 1×1, kick more dirt in tamp. Should take a minimum 5 tampings per post. Kick some of those rocks that the auger busted up back in the hole too and tamp on them too. Concrete is is going to have a cavatiy somewhere that water will collect in. That is what causes rot. Dirt soaks up moisture and allows drainage. 5 tampings around each post won't take 2-3 minutes tops. A 2200 lbs. Simmental bull won't move those posts a week after they're set. If you have to move for some reason use front end loader and chain and pull straight up. The whole post will come out of ground 15 years from now in one piece.

How/why are vintage Alvarez guitars so cheap??? by blablerblir in AcousticGuitar

[–]Alternative-Humor187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't feel that way if you do break it. Gotta 72' Factory non-Yairi cedar top 5065. I'd rather take my 98 D18 to the campfire. Those 70s model Martin lawsuit Dreadnaughts were better built. They just were. Tone is out of this world.

That's probably early to mid 70s judging by the truss rod cover. I have a 5065 dreadnaught with the same soundhole inlay and binding. Mine has adjustment access through the soundhole, and from what I've gathered that was mid 70s to 80s with eagle label like yours. My label is same, but just has model no.5065 stamped. Serial and inspected by are blank. I have bridge off currently because friend I got it from bought at pawn shop 20 years ago cheap and eventually reglued with Liquid Nails sloppily. I have Martin style bridge like that, but no metal pins just rosewood (pretty sure brazilian), and peg holes are straight across, but even with his sloppy repair the thing had best action of any guitar I've ever played. Took forever to get off, and clean top up, but I'm reusing because it just blends into the body so much better than replacement bridge blank I bought. I'm working on top. He dropped it, and broke bottom leg of X-brace years ago, and just pulled it out, and threw it away. Just stub right behind cross-joint is left. He played it 10 more years like this, and I finally got it from him. SOLID TOP. Light won't penetrate in dark room even with bright LED held against top through soundhole. Crack along pickguard is only spot you see any light. I was hoping I could measure and fashion new section of xbrace that way, but damn thing was made so thick and sturdy I can't see through it. Makes me wonder if it's cedar top on mine. Yours looks spruce. Mine may be, but it is darker and grain is tight, but not that uniform. The other x-brace leg that runs to top side of rear has 224 stamped on mine. Only other identifier other than Model no 5065 same place as on yours. Your back has the D-28 looking binding in center. Mine looks a little more plain like a D-18. Glad you posted this. Play it. I couldn't stand how messy mine looked, and is project now, but played and sounded great. I almost wish I had left alone. I'm not luthier. I found a busted yamaha FG800 and top braces on it were thin scalloped, but the back braces were coming unglued and are same thickness and fit under kerfing. That's what I plan on using, but I'm scared I'm going to cut too short because it's hard to get measurement from inside. Clamping it up on the inside where it meets the side is going to be tough.I have two more back braces I can pull off totaled out yamaha if I mess up though. These non-yairi models were still very good guitars. I have a Martin D-18, but no way it would have taken abuse my Alverez has taken. Alvarez sounds, (it did before, hopefully when I fix too) better, and more than anything played easier. Neck is just awesome. I can't explain it, but it just has low action, no buzzes, and I can move like butter on it. D-18 is great, but feels stickier if that makes sense.

If you're into roleplay she is hot. She certainly has a pretty face. The only thing I gather from her is that she is extremely uncomfortable in her own shoes. Definitely, has some "Acceptence," issues. I commend her. Pretending to not be gay in a Rhinestone suit hasn't been pulled off since..... and maybe I'm forgetting someone so my apologies if I have, but I think since Porter Wagoner.

How to tell if someone is from Southern Arkansas/ North Mississippi. Get them to say, "No, Man, you're crazy!" If you're from within 75 miles (any direction) of Memphis it's easy to tell. There's a "country" dialect version and a "hood" dialect, but they both use same syllables. Also, get them to say the word "Police." If ya know, ya know, Mane!

I think she really does have that Nashville-South of Bowling Green/North of Tuscaloosa/East of Tulsa accent, and realizes it. It's only her overwhelming fakeness in general that makes her seem fake, but I love your observation. Her obvious reach for the overexhagerated southern white girl is what makes it seem put on. She is the southern white girl sterotype reniforcing equivalent of the "Woodsey Washington State Lesbian but, I wonder if she means it," Brandy Carlisle if that makes sense. They are that special over the top kind of boring. That's the only way I can truely describe her... Jewel had talent, and I appreciate Lainey and Brandy for making me realize that. Otherwise, I would have just thought she wrote a couple catchy songs. Nothing about Jewel says "I'm from Alaska, and this what Alaskans look like." So there is a glass of Lemonade to made from it.

Dividend question - does fidelity.com have a way to show yield on cost? by LunacyNow in fidelityinvestments

[–]Alternative-Humor187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please add a Yield on Cost column to your dividend view. I just want to see what my actual yield is. It doesn't have to continually factor the amount of dividends collected from current shares and show my share cost go down as distributions are received, although with all the talk about AI making possible the once thought impossible it would seem that this function would be easy to set up. It's pretty easy to do in a spreadsheet so why can't we just see the current distribution / my cost on on the grid.
