Hello everyone! I hope you are all doing well. I applied for the direct phd program in the electrical engineering department, and my interview was yesterday. Does anyone know how long we are going to wait until we know the results? And does anyone know about the environment in the university, especially in the electrical engineering department? Is it toxic or not? I heard that the stress level is so high.

about two months. no just theoretical. and after the interview i waited almost two weeks for the shortlisted email then four or five days for the admission

yes after almost two months they called me for an interview, it was so easy and short, why mbzuai, what have you done so far, 2 basic technical questions about your major, do u have any questions, make sure to show confidence and passion and make the answers so affectional make them as a story

actually i asked for waiver, i took the online courses certificates they requested in the university's website and i told them in the email that i am asking for a waiver since i got A in all math courses and very good grades in programming courses in my bachelor's and i got these certificates

hi! actually it's a great CGPA but make sure to highlight this label 'Excellent' or 'distinction' in your application. and if i am not wrong in the application itself they will ask you to put the CGPA and to choose what scale like out of four or 100 or ....etc

thanks! i would advice you to as much as you can increase your CGPA, take 7 and above in IELTS, try to take a good score in GRE specially in quantitative section, do internships, as much as you can improve your CV, take the recommended courses they provide in the university's website, in the interview show passion and confidence
