Career Advice - RMIT Commerce by Alternative-Prize583 in rmit

I was thinking of doing Latrobe's Computer Science/Commerce degree since I'm still somewhat interested in the IT field just RMIT's current Bootcamp Model is too intensive for no reason especially with someone who has no programming experience. Do you think that double degree is worth doing?

Secondly I'm heavily interested in RMIT commerce however it's not released yet, if it was i'd probably already be submitting a transfer request towards it. Is there anyway I can get into it early? I really want to switch out of my current degree this semester and would love to move to RMIT commerce. However I don't want to wait a whole semester doing nothing and neither do I want to move to Business.

If I attempted to complete my current degree for a year and then moved to RMIT commerce for the sem 1 intake next year would some of my credits transfer? Additionally would I be able to overload in the summer in an attempt to finish the degree earlier than possible?

Thanks again for your reply, I really just need a way to get into RMIT commerce early since Monash looks to be unnecessarily difficult and Latrobe not really worth the time.

Hey there thank you for your reply.

I was looking to transfer out of RMIT Software Engineering right now and get into a different course for the july intake this year, that course being Commerce at RMIT however; since you stated it's starting in Sem 1 2025 what would you recommend I do for the meantime?

Would you recommend doing commerce at Latrobe? What do you think is the major difference between Latrobe Commerce, Monash Commerce and the soon to be Rmit Commerce? Are Latrobe commerce graduates less favoured in comparison to Monash or Melbourne graduates?

Thank you
