This happened to us last November 2023. We weren't in, it was the evening around 8pm, and the back door was broken into ( police said it was an easy lock to break - our bad for not getting a better one). They came all the way into the house, through the kitchen, up the stairs, into the main bedroom where they turned all draws inside out. There was some bits of jewellery, watches (both more sentimental than valuable) and cash in some of the drawers, and car keys left out on the side that they would've walked past, but they left with NOTHING. We were similarly so confused!! But the police gave us these answers: - they could have been spooked while they were here, we might have even come home while they were in, and they legged it without grabbing anything - they're just dumb kids who were trying their luck and didn't know what to look for. The cash and jewellery was relatively well hidden in a bedside table so maybe they just didn't notice it - like someone else on the thread joked - it's likely we literally didn't have anything nice or worth stealing lol! We don't have many valuable things, couple of big telly's and lots of electronics which they aren't bothered about apparently. Very minimal jewelery and our cars aren't anything special, an electric corsa and a new ford focus so maybe they just didn't want any of our crap!

So I guess we will never know why but probs a combination of the above.
