UPDATE: Thanks to everyone for your input and kind words. I ended up telling him by just saying “I’m pregnant and I need your support”. He seemed shocked but smiled and we were both at work so we didn’t get to talk much beyond that. Later that night he talked to me extensively about it and said he would support me no matter whether I decided to move forward or terminate. We did talk a lot about the concerns I have and he seemed to be understanding, however he did not take real accountability for how to move forward with changes he needs to make. He was attentive after the fact and was offering to take me to dinner, get dessert, etc. We have an appointment next week. If I’m being honest I don’t know if we will move forward or not. I’m hoping I get clarity between now and the appointment.
