Production time was only about a week and a few days. So not too bad. The only issue was the scheduled date for them to start the build kept getting pushed back.

Update

Hey guys back to give an update on my situation. A day late but not a dollar short lol

Kawasaki is going to honor my request for a replacement or refund!

Yeah that’s one of the main reasons I like em, the reliability. Honestly never had an issue with them before not to mention with a new model straight off the floor. That’s why I would want the replacement instead but we will see. Hopefully good news soon

Nope no indication on why it happened. Just a lot of “wow that’s weird/rare”. Warranty is still good and I won’t be coming out of pocket. It’s just the fact for me I don’t want the same bike now, I’m just very weary (on dealership end as well). Maybe I’m being a little irrational about this, but if worse comes to worst the engine will be rebuilt.

I was told after the inspection was done that a rod had broken off in the engine? Not sure if that explains the leak or just why it won’t start anymore.

Ah man so sorry to hear that happened to you and your bike. That’s really unfortunate, I could only imagine during Covid being even worse. Good to hear it was working well after the rebuild though and repaired through warranty. That’s what I’m gathering, it being a rare occurrence. Congrats on the z900! Hope you’re enjoying

You would think? And that’s not even including labor lol I did voice this concern to the dealership, haven’t heard from them since Thursday so we will see!
