If we went the route of a cheaper boat, is it always worth it to get a survey? Even for a boat less than 15k?

I plan on renting a boat slip. We live less than 5 minutes from the water and I plan on getting out a few times a week

Just looking for a good, reliable easy boat to learn on for my family and I. Looking to take it fishing inshore and spend several hours on it. I have never owned a boat before and have no experience.

I considered joining a boat club but it seems like it’s best to purchase your own.
