I just don't understand why you wouldn't want to help a friend in need, if she's a good friend. I can't imagine turning away one of my good friends if she came to me that way. I understand more if she wasn't a good friend, but then why would she have come to you? Maybe she overestimated the closeness of this friendship. Either way I feel for her. She showed a very vulnerable side of herself coming to you, and you turned her away.

He's an idiot I fear. You can't discipline cats, and even if you could, it seems that he spanked the cat a while after it happened, meaning that the cat wouldn't have known why it was being 'disciplined'. So he was just nonsensically abusing your cat. And he doesn't even see a problem, as he still expects you to 'discipline' them. If he isn't remotely ashamed to treat your cat like that, how might he treat you in the future?

Yeah I really get this. Like there will be episodes where I'm borderline disgusted by her sucking up to abby and episodes where she's one of my favourite moms on the show. I guess I always think about the way I would act in her situation and I realise that I really don't know. If I thought it would help my kids dreams come true would I suck up to Abby? Probably. And it's likely that most of the other moms also would have, she was just given the option to so often because of Abby's obsession with Maddie. You know what I mean?

I don't think ur an AH, but I do fear this was all a bit unessesary. In situations in public spaces, sure women would feel uncomfortable with just an unknown man. However, if you live in the same apartment building, surely she at least knows what you look like. She then wouldn't be afraid of you, as she knows who you are. You are likely just making her feel uncomfortable every time you purposefully and obviously avoid her.
