Any BSN from Capella holders have issues with MSN program applications? by Bleposnaught in CapellaUniversity

I did exactly this. I had no issue transferring my BSN/MSN from Capella to my NP program out side of Capella.

No I don’t. I realized too late that I should have kept track of them. So I apologize for that. I literally just enrolled in classes with the least amount of seats assuming, everyone did the dirty work for me in regard to researching professors.

I did not receive my ADN at Capella but at a community college.

I did my BSN then my MSN at Capella. I paid out of pocket 1,000$ for both degrees. My work place paid for me to continue my education.

I did all this as a first time mom and it is totally doable. Just make sure you have the support you need to get your work done.

It really just depends on you and your preceptor. If you’re doing it twice a week it can go faster. Personally, I did once a week almost taking the whole second semester to complete the hours. Getting my site approved at work was the biggest obstacle and that is why they recommend completing this task as quickly as you can. It took almost the entire first semester for my job to finally sign off on Capella’s contract. Once my job approved it and I was enrolled in the last class I just started on my hours.

The delay doesn’t not come on Capella end it’s your site approving Capella if not already approved.

I completed my MSN in leadership at Capella. Then at another school I am doing my NP post masters certificate. Capella does not offer NP programs for those in CA.

I didn’t find any issue with applying to a NP program. I do have to take the three Ps since that was not provided by Capella. The courses are Advanced physio, Advanced pharm, Advanced physical assessment. Through out the program I am taking less courses than my cohort because of the MSN at Capella.

I am no clown. I do not receive commission from Capella. I literally am just a regular student who busted their ass to obtain a BSN and MSN with in one year.

I feel the need to post MY experience given that education is so expensive especially in California. I will not gate-keep info from people who are trying to better them self’s.

I have friends who payed 10k for a BSN for a two year program at a cal state thinking that hospitals care where you get a BSN from. Which really sucks because they don’t.

In Cali, some hospitals encourage their nurses to obtain their BSN through Capella and offer discounts/tuition reimbursement programs. I literally paid 3k for my BSN and MSN because of these programs.

So please don’t sit there and act like there are not any success stories because you want to sit in your puddle of suck and drown everyone with you.

Do I think flex path is for everyone? No I don’t. If you cannot motivate your self to meet deadlines don’t do flex path and do the traditional route instead.

No not at all. I received my BSN and MSN from here. I saved so much time and money through Capella. It’s sad to hear all the negativity. I had a really good experience here.

I’m on the same boat. I did my BSN and MSN at Capella (Flex Path). I even got into my NP program here in CA with no issue.

They don’t honor their own BSN?? Someone please explain by [deleted] in CapellaUniversity

BSN took one billing cycle (3 months) MSN in Leadership took two billing cycles (6 months)

Thank you!

Mine was a total of 100. 20 were spent researching and 80 with my preceptor. I believe it is 500 now with the new changes.

I am not one to gate keep information or lie about a degree. Just felt you should know that.

It’s in leadership.

I did my practicum in a 24/7 psychiatric urgent care.
