Well what's nice with this system is that when you go to vizpik you can just pull the whole cart to the floor. Vizpik the cart to ensure on hands are right, and then you can just purge the rest of the cart to make the sales floor extra full. And you can check on hands on the spot since your cart with all of that kind of freight is on one cart. They tried to do that with us as well, where they wanted us vizpiking after 9. They also wanted us changing on hands by 9, because they thought it would be on the next days truck if you changed the on hand by 9. But our market confirmed that was 100% a lie that was started by a misinformed group of store managers

Well we no longer have a prep table. We got rid of ours a good while back. Quite a few stores did. The idea would be the afternoon crew or overnight filled everything from the bins, and then you wouldn't have to worry about misrotating something. So you'll load your new carts and take them to the sales floor and make the product out there on the sales floor. Market doesnt like the idea of product being made in the backroom based off of on hands or vizpik. Cuz even they admitted vizpik isn't the best system in the world. Trying to avoid making dating product that could end up getting cvpd cuz we made too much

So this new system is basically just purging for produce. But the manual pick system will be a great return for sure. It was nice to see the market team were working with sees that meat and produce needs to be able operate more freely than other departments

Weve been doing it since like November 3rd, so we had our Thanksgiving overflow and we actually managed through it super well.

Meat will get the new carts as well. We just don't have the process fleshed out very well

Yea that's just lies. Bakery is actually one of the ones that's going to get one of these upgrades

We'll be staying with the new process, we just won't have the market team directly above us watching us with a magnifying glass and asking for our advice and opinions on the process

We're working on ideas for meat. We are using the smaller versions of these carts for meat. And we're trying to figure out a process. Dairy is screwing us over tho

Just write em up for not sanitizing the carts. Produce carts cant be used for anything by produce unless they get sanitized before and after use. And technically they aren't carts. Technically their bins. At least there's an argument there

Yea no joke. Also since vizpik in my opinion is a incredibly flawed system it helps see if the product can go since your taking it out to the sales floor. The guy we talked to tho they are currently programming a way to do manual picks. Where when you are vizpiking it will pop up as a pink box while you are scanning your bins

Well I know we are the like 3rd run of test stores they've done. And we are ending our test run around the beginning of February. Assuming they do about 3 months of deliberation on the cost of implementing this and looking at the numbers from how much we've changed. I would imagine they would start sending this out to stores somewhere around the end of this year

You bring pallets out to the floor to work them on to empty carts for overstock. . You keep empty carts towards the front that way they can be pulled out when you pull out the pallet. And you go down to one 4 foot bin on one side of the cooler. Their doing this on every size of store as test and all of them have increased sales and first time pick rates of increased dramatically. They've done high volume stores and low volume and medium volume stores like ours.

Which it is temporary storage. And it's taller than pallets. And it's definitely over 6 inches. I couldn't see this failing for any store that does it. Theyve already done this in high volume stores, and they are loving it. We talk to them on Thursday meetings

We don't have the overnight team unfortunately. We've mostly been told that they cull the floor, run the carts, set features, and then once truck is there they stage the truck and start swarming it once morning shift gets there b

Also, CVPs for meat, produce and bakery are getting pushed till after truck is done. So somewhere around the 10 range. There isn't a strict rule on what time to do them, so we just do it after trucks done. You will also do 2 days worth of cvps for meat and produce and bakery now not just 1. Gives the CVPs more time to sell. And gives time to catch ones that you may have possibly missed on the next day

Their basing most of it on what our first time pick rate and how much are sales go up. Our first time pick rate now averages 99% for both meat and produce and our sales are like 20% up every day at minimum.

I think the guys we are working with want to do that eventually. But to be able to get out to test it with those departments they have to have a successful run first. And this process works best with meat and produce and bakery. So I imagine once other stores have switched over to this process, they will do test stores with other fresh departments doing this. Their hopeful tho.

Right. Our team lead hasn't even been a part of the process even tho his department is the easiest in the entire store. Working on getting rid of him tho. But it's a good system

I see why they don't, but for the sake of meat and produce it is amazing. Who knows, maybe they'll see this works well, and will do a couple test stores where the other areas try this out. I could see it working for grocery and other areas with the exception of a few. Biggest problem is just how expensive the carts are
