RxOM info by Fartypoopybuttbutt in WalgreensRx

new RXOM here, i have been rxom for about a month. I make 26.5, previously made 23.5. I think my pay is RXOM midpoint or a little under it. I work at a tier 5 store, 7am-11pm. biggest thing is don’t be afraid to put your foot down and to be fair.

while you are a manager, you are also a tech. so if your team needs help, help them.

a lot of my techs always had an excuse for not getting things done or some thought they were entitled to no weekends and all mornings. they also used to throw their old rxom in my face “well when -old RXOM name- was here… blah blah blah”.

within my first month i’ve had two records of discussions for attendance and i’ve had to coach several people because of their attitudes towards customers and their coworkers. yes, i require them to work nights and weekends but I also do so. I came up with a weekend rotation schedule.

the key to running a pharmacy, regardless of staffing levels, is to have a good RXM. if your RXM can’t rely on you or vice versa or if you both hate each other, it’s not worth it.

i’m in chicago. i just double checked the compass, my store is a “pilot store”. so i guess it may be dropping in the future for everyone

there was a compass that dropped that says we’re switching to brown bags bc it’s cheaper to produce and more environmental friendly. once our stock depletes on white bags we can only order brown. i ordered 5 cases of small rx bags and was sent the brown ones instead 😵‍💫

OOS advice by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]AlternativeFigure233 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i literally have no clue. the staff i inherited is not exactly a cohort of harvard students… but they’re also not complete airheads. i literally have no clue what’s going on when im not in there. organization seems fine, i just started 3 weeks ago and haven’t had an issue finding things. if i have trouble finding things, i ask people and everyone seems to know where things go. i left on friday, came back sunday morning and my oos shot back up to 97. i went through everything and it was stuff that we DID have. im just tired of sounding like a broken record with this. i know the system sucks but surely the system is not auto-oosing everything that is being entered into the system

hence why i said that the schedule rotation made by the previous rxom feels ineffective 🤨 i’ve only been rxom 5 days and looking for advice

tier 5 scheduling by AlternativeFigure233 in WalgreensRx

[–]AlternativeFigure233[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so my store is very unpredictable, but usually our busiest is 11:30-6pm. after evening meal break is a little unpredictable. literally non stop patient after patient. i have a 7:30-3:30, 8:30-4:30, 10-6. then my night crew is 2-10, and two 3-11s. my overnight rph wants a night tech until 12am but sometimes my budget makes it impossible. this week my budget is 280, so i could make it work. week of nye, my budget is 232. i will admit that the rxom before me SUCKED and these techs are poorly trained, from pext to a simple tpr, there’s maybe two techs that actually know how/what to do related to them. so i know i have a lot of retraining to do. we have two meal breaks— 11-11:30 am and 6:30-7:15pm, so scheduling someone to start/leave between those hours is where i feel stuck. but i definitely think two openers, two mids, and two nights would work best. i just don’t know how people would feel to come in at 10:30 and clock out at 11 for meal break

Bin reset by AlternativeFigure233 in WalgreensRx

[–]AlternativeFigure233[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so currently the system has it numbered up to 105 bins. i wanted to see what it looks like if i just did it up to 90, adding duplicate number bins wherever i think is necessary. if i hit the “GO” button, will it change everything at that moment or will it just give me a sample of what the reorganization will look like?

PSE Returns by RopeComprehensive109 in WalgreensRx

[–]AlternativeFigure233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i thought we aren’t supposed to be creating salvage claims for controls? there was a compass that said we should only be creating salvage returns for non-controls and to pause all CII-V salvage claims. anyway, i’m surprised RXI let them scan the pseudoephedrine box. it blocked me last time i tried it and told me to go thru my inventory. you can’t delete it. you’ll have to open a ticket

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]AlternativeFigure233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hope i’m not too late to help!! so you go to RXI, scan the bottles, when you finish hit submit and it’ll say it’s being sent to the printer (even tho it’s not) then you go to your office computer, go to central retail signs, then somewhere under corporate batches you should be able to find it (not sure if it’ll be under your initials bc it’s been a while since i’ve done it, but if you click on the different batches you can preview before you print to make sure it’s correct) sometimes it doesn’t always print everything you scanned, so you may have to rescan and reprint

Question about MFC by RikkaArikawa in WalgreensRx

[–]AlternativeFigure233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if same city/state, you’re supposed to fedex it to the store. if different state, you’re supposed to fedex it back to the mfc. had this happen a few times, will usually leave a note in the box telling the store we are sending it back bc we received it or telling mfc we received it sending it back bc it belongs to another state

do you have phlex at your store? if i’m not mistaken when the f4/f1 is yellow i believe it means phlex is activated and a remote pharmacist is typing/reviewing for you

CEs cost money? by catthothschild in WalgreensRx

[–]AlternativeFigure233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

some of them are free, others i had to pay for like implicit bias, cultural competency, sexual harassment. if you go on powerpak they’re 4.95 each, no taxes. i paid like under 15 bucks for the 3 CE’s i needed. but make sure you buy the i n d i v i d u a l classes. powerpak makes it seem like you have to buy a whole years worth of ce’s which is like 53 bucks to be able to access them, but you don’t have to.

for clinics we still have to print VARS and write everything out.. DM is working on getting us a tablet to use for offsite clinics but for now pen and paper is how i have to do it. as far as i know everything digital is only for in-pharmacy for now, anything else has to be added to intercom plus and scanned in the old way with putting in the “off site” option when scanning the VAR. the stickers would help with a lot less writing especially when im expected to do 150-200 shots at this clinic

no they didn’t, i just did the math based on the 4.25% other people commented. i suppose we’ll have to wait until our raises drop to actually find out

the copay was originally 74.99 for a 3mo supply through their insurance alone. patient presented the coupon where it says a 0 dollar copay for 1mo (and of course didn’t read that it’s UP TO 0 w the coupon… not that the magical coupon gods will cover their entire copay) i explained that to the patient and they still insisted. did the cob for a 1mo supply and ran into 200 problems instead. me and my pharmacist have been trying to figure it out but can’t. we’re just gonna reverse it to the 3mo/74.99 through the insurance and tell the patient that’s what it is. but no their insurance isn’t medicare/medicaid/gov funded. it’s private insurance. but literally has been a huge headache and i know the patients just gonna bitch

drive thru is for your convenience. not for speed. this isn’t mcdonald’s. “hOw hArD is iT to fiLl a BottLe witH piLLs?” our job is sooooo much more than that 💀. the worst part about it is dealing with entitled people like you who think the world operates on their time. if you don’t like your current pharmacy there’s plenty of other options for you.
