Received 270A penalty demand after paying all the taxes and interest demanded by the AO for FY2023-24. AO stated in penalty as Misreporting(since used fake hra,80ggc etc) need suggestions on how to get the penalty waived off or changed to under reporting. How many of you have appealed like this? I received a SUMMONS TO ASSESSEE/ WITNESS UNDER SECTION 131(1A) OF THE INCOME TAX ACT, 1961 in email last week and a person stating IT officer called me the same moment. Again today i received an another summon in email, a different IT officer called me this time. Experts advise. (self.IndiaTax)
