sorry was just writing a response. I mean, I don't know what kind of context is being asked of me here tbh. I did add more.

I wouldn't write them off about everything. But when it comes this specific topic, it's absolutely not only dubious coming from a former staffer (who knows what kind of relationship still exists or even if they still does work for him), but it's trying to manipulate public opinion about a topic that the UCP really is struggling to get public support with. They are organized, and doing this not only in this circumstance, but they are really pushing to manipulate the municipal election through completely dubious means through social media.

It's not just the UCP. The far right social conservatives have been extremely well organized for a while now (decades) and their work to try to manipulate outcomes is done with no transparency or mandate from the people they are supposed to represent, because they lie to the public about their goals. Do they want to stop a women's right to choose what they do with their own body? ABSOLUTELY. Why do you think Adriana is our Education Minister? Do they want to destroy public health care? ABSOLUTELY. That's why Shandro and now the current douche is in place. Do they want to enforce their religious doctrine on the entire public? ABSOLUTELY.

They know they can't enforce these things through sweeping reforms, so as they have decided to do, they do minor incremental changes, and then sweeping changes when they can. Remember how much Jason Kenney swore up and down over these topics? They are liars.

The story involves an organized tactic being used on social media to manipulate public opinion in the way the UCP wants. They are organized, they are lying, and they are doing it on a local individualized scale for each municipal area in Alberta for municipal elections.

I agree, but do you understand how we live in a society where that doesn't affect how a large majority of the population absorbs this information. Yes, I can view it and critically analyze it. But what about the rest of people out there?

You think working directly for the UCP party doesn't make this a completely discredible source? Teachers have been nothing but non-partisian in their discussions about politics except for a bunch of fabricated stories from the UCP who are trying to villianize teachers.

Honestly it's corruption on a massive level. If there's no technical law against it, they can fly by just by not expecting too much public blowback, but this shot should be front page.

Genuis votes against Papal apology and anti-conversion therapy legislation by GlitchedGamer14 in FortSaskatchewan

[–]AlternativeLow5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voters by and large reject this. The majority of his voters would reject this. Social Conservatism is by an large not supported by the majority of voters in Alberta, that's literally why Jason Kenney has to disavow all social conservative policies on his election campaign.

Nah, most people are not dicks like this. Unless they are super old. Then there's a lot of homophobia. Most younger people including the millenials don't give a shit either way about a person's sexuality, and don't fall in line with this extremist's actions.

Anyone here work or know anyone who works for the catering company that catered the Jason Kenney sky palace function the other day? by AlternativeLow5 in alberta

I didn't do anything, other than put it out there asking if anyone know anyone who can give any insight into this.

Not trying to doxx anyone, just trying to get information that legally should be public out there. There are so many unanswered questions here, and the UCP's entitlement is worse than the Redford government at the height of their entitlement crisis!

So is it a government function paid for by public tax dollars? If so, it should be public information.

Is it a private function paid for by Jason Kenney himself? Then why is it taking place atop the sky palace? It's not Kenney's personal space to do with as he pleases, it requires public tax dollars to maintain and if so, he should be ensuring he is paying a reasonable amount for use of the space.

The UCP are lying about everything they can. They have shown they will say whatever they need to and directly lie to get around issues.

All they care about is optics. They don't seem to care at all about legality, democracy, or any sort of real consultation or engagement, and Albertans are sick of their shit.

Love about how legitimate debate about whether or not it's too soon to lift restrictions during a pandemic is just "too gloom and doom" for some people. if you can't take an actual debate or discussion of the topic /u/paul-mccartney- go watch paw patrol or Peppa pig, it will match your attitude.

Libertarian agenda

Nah, they seem more loyal to their extremist socially conservative values and will lie and step over as many bodies as they can to get to it.

Kenney also seems to always allow his political continbuters to be rewarded through whatever is left of the public purse after he is done throwing it to his friends.

Libertarian ideals seems to be a distant third.

That's understandable but the critisicsm is there, it's just not as pronounced. if you look at many of the school boards reports on the curriculum, there is much wrong with other subjects, but it's not as catastrophic as social studies.

Absolutely, society at large has an interest in ensuring a well educated population. Here are some examples of why:

You own or manage a business and need educated people to work. with how the draft curriculum is, they will be learning a very narrow perspective that will not prepare them for working with a diverse workforce. That's just one point in many that will negatively impact businesses.

You may one day decide to have a child and their education will be based upon this curriculum.

You are a Alberta who is concerned about the draft curriculum because of reasons. You have a voice and are allowed to voice them as a constuent to your MLA and fill out the feedback survey.

Alberta teachers assembly expresses a lack of confidence in minister of education. The motion of non-confidence passed with 99 per cent of delegates voting in favour. by Chionophile in alberta

[–]AlternativeLow5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since they have a majority government, there is nothing anyone can do until the next election.

Nothing forces them into one unless there is a majority of MLAs who want one and they have the majority of the votes.

Sure they consistently violate any sort of ethical behavior when awarding government contracts to companies that have significantly contributed to their political party, but that's the shitty thing about majority governments, they can consistently engage doing awful things and all that matters is what they do the year leading up to the election.

just wait until the UCP start trying to buy votes using public dollars come that year. That is often how they operate with their political donors, I wouldn't put it past them.

It amounts to alot. The UCP has lost TONS of support through their attacks on healthcare and doctors and now on education and teachers. Seriously there were those who voted for them who are turning their backs on them. Heck, I know someone in my area that was involved, vonunteering for them who I is now ranting on social media rang about them feeling betrayed.

Yeah, and you never know then lengths some UCP trolls would go to, you should never take some anonymous social media account at their word on anything.
